Jiaohe Manor hotel is a three-star hotel, located just a 10-minute drive from the city centre of Turpan, where you can discover iconic sights such as the beautiful Emin Minaret.

The sand-coloured hotel, designed to look like a medieval castle, is influenced by the castles of the Han and Tang dynasties. The charming, characterful style is combined with the facilities of a modern hotel. There are 125 comfortable and simply furnished bedrooms, each decorated with pretty, local artwork and textiles. You’ll also have your own modern bathroom.

Enjoy a taste of local culture in the hotel’s own Chinese restaurant where there are regular music and dance performances alongside authentic dishes. Alternatively, a western restaurant offers a more international menu.

A short drive away is the Ancient City of Jaiohe, from which the hotel takes its name. Built on a hill between two rivers, this city of earthen ruins, weather beaten from their exposed position, is a must visit for those fascinated by the history of the Silk Road.

During your stay, you can also head into Turpan at night to eat Uyghur kebabs and fresh bread alongside the locals; and discover the Grape Valley north of Turpan – though this is touted as the place to walk through the vineyards, the rows of vines practically snake up to, and surround, the city of Turpan.
