The charming boutique resort The Place is nestled in the hills above Sairee. Its location is close enough to restaurants, bars, shops and the longest beach on the island, but far enough away to savour the tranquillity and refreshing breeze that comes with being in the hills. The resort is not located directly at the beach, however the beautiful Sairee beach is only a 10 minutes walk faway.
The Villas
All Villas have a large open-plan area featuring a spacious bedroom with King size bed, an en-suite dressing room, a spacious living area, a contemporary bathroom with double washbasins, glass-roofed shower and a separate kitchenette.
The Villas have floor length sliding doors that can be opened completely, opening up to the ocean, and amplifying the extent of living space.
The luxurious Villas boast a large balcony with a private infinity plunge pool, a relaxation area and a private sundeck.
The fully equipped kitchenette with fridge, sink and hob feature a Nespresso machine and capsules for the coffee lovers. Breakfast is not included in the room rate, but guests will receive a complimentary 'Welcome Hamper' which includes breakfast items such as bread, eggs, cereal, jam and milk. The Villas also have a number of delivery menus with which guests can order a variety of hot or cold breakfasts and have them delivered to the front gate. There are also a number of little restaurants in Sairee that serve breakfast and they are only a 10 minute walk from the Villas.
Nearby restaurants (5-10 mins) include The Gallery (Thai), Barracuda (specialising in seafood), Thaita (great Italian) and loads of other Thai and Western options.
We love the fact that The Place is committed to responsible tourism practices and supports Save Koh Tao whose goals include strengthening the community, improving the usage of abundant natural resources and being a leader of sustainable and eco-friendly development. As such, the resort uses eco-friendly products, re-uses rainwater, uses bio-degradable plastic bags (and only if really needed) and uses refillable bathroom amenities to just name a few.
The Place is one of the best hotels we have stayed at in Thailand. The design of the comfortable room is exceptionally beautiful and well thought through. Highly recommended!
