Set around a series of enclosed courtyards privacy and serenity are guaranteed. In fact, the hotel almost has a monastic atmosphere thanks to the calming and traditional Lanna architecture - covered walkways, dramatic sloped roofs and the central sala. The body of the hotel is set apart from the hotel's restaurant which is open to non-residents. This ensures that the living facilities within the hotel are reserved entirely for resident guests only.

The Rooms
Rachamankha has 25 rooms - 18 Superior Rooms (32 sqm), 4 Deluxe Rooms (40 sqm) and 3 Suites (100 sqm).

The Superior Rooms open directly onto the main courtyard and offer either double or twin beds. All rooms have been individually decorated with antiques so no room is the same.

The Deluxe Rooms are located in the two-storey building at the pool end of the hotel. They all feature spectacular four poster beds reaching to the ceiling. There is space for an extra bed in these rooms.

The Suites are located in a separate building and each comprises of two double en-suite bedrooms set either side of a large lounge room, and a kitchenette.

Suite 26, the Verandah Suite, is situated above the Library and has a verandah running the full length of the suite overlooking the library lawn – please note Suite 26 has two bedrooms with one of the bedrooms much larger than the other, both bedrooms have private en-suite bathrooms with the larger bedroom fitted with a king size bed and the smaller bedroom fitted with a queen size bed.

Suite 24, the Courtyard Suite, occupies a ground floor corner position near the reception. This suite is secluded behind a private walled courtyard garden. Although one of the bedrooms is larger than the other, both bedrooms are fitted with king size beds and full en-suite bathrooms.

Suite 27, the newest suite is on the first floor overlooking the library lawn. This suite also has a full length verandah with two bedrooms set either side of a large lounge. One of the bedrooms is fitted with a king bed the other is fitted with twin single beds. Both bedrooms have full en-suite bathrooms.

The Facilities
The restaurant building is situated next to the hotel's entrance. It offers air-conditioned indoor dining for up to 50 guests and outdoor dining for up to 60 guests in a cosy cobbled courtyard. The walls are decorated with Ming Dynasty porcelain and 19th century Thai "Kradat Khoi" paintings. The courtyard is popular for intimate weddings or functions. Upstairs the restaurant building houses a gallery and boutique.

The hotel has a beautiful 20m teal-tiled swimming pool, serviced by a two-storey pool pavilion which houses the pool bar on the ground floor and a massage spa on the second floor.

The library at Rachamankha is also a definite highlight. Fitted from floor to ceiling with polished hardwood the room is lit by chandeliers. The day's papers are put in the library every morning; books are available for guests' enjoyment during their stay; and 2 personal computers are set-up with high-speed internet connection for free use by guests. Complimentary brandy is left out in a crystal decanter with crystal glasses for guests' enjoyment.
