Mekong Villas is situated on a promontory overlooking the Mekong. The province of Loei is one of the most unspoiled in the whole of Thailand and visitors can experience rural Thai life as it was 20 years ago.
The host Narisa and her husband had discovered the then-sleepy village of Pak Chom about 20 years ago. They fell in love with the riverside location and decided to build a country retreat despite the fact that were no other Bangkokians in the area. Since then, they have gradually improved the houses, added a small pool and discovered beautiful walks and excursions. Simple home-cooking is included in the price and, although their English is limited, the Mekong Villas team does everything to give guests a memorable experience. Treks can be arranged to an old communist stronghold on Phu Tok with magnificent views over the Mekong, or canoe in the early evening on the 6th longest river in the world. The tranquil Historic Park of Phu Phra Bat is only an hour and a half away, while Chiang Khan, 30 minutes away, has restaurants and gift shops in a street of attractive old teak houses.
Set in lush tropical garden next to the Mekong River, Mekong Villas enjoy magnificent 180 degree river views.
The compound comprises of three units:
The Family Suite (240 sqm) sleeps up to five guests in two double and one single beds. It has a lounging area, a balcony and a kitchen so that guests can be independent and look after themselves. This unit is air-conditioned.
The Two-Bedroom Villa (200 sqm) also sleeps up to five guests in two double and one single beds. It offers a spacious and air-conditioned lounge area and a terrace with river views.
The One-Bedroom Cottage (180 sqm) for up to two guests has its private entrance and a lovely balcony. This so-called log house doesn't have air-conditioning but a fan.
Breakfast is included and the villa staff can cook a simple Thai meal if required (the menu will depend on the availability of local produce).
