The Rooms
Combining elegant Thai style with modern touches, each of the rooms and suites enjoys its own distinct character.

With a rich décor influenced by its vibrant surroundings, the Superior Rooms enjoy views of the bustling Chao Phraya River. Traditional Thai silks and dark teak furnishings have been used throughout to provide a sense of place, while fresh exotic fruits and flowers are provided daily for a luxurious touch. Furnishings include the choice of king or twin beds, a working desk and armchairs, and a spacious en-suite bathroom.

Located on the higher floors of the hotel, the elegant Deluxe Rooms offer river and city views. Featuring traditional Thai touches such as teak furniture and beautiful silk accompaniments, the rich decor is supremely stylish yet wonderfully comfortable. Furnishings include the choice of king or twin beds swathed in luxurious linens, while spacious bathrooms have large soaking baths in which to relax.

Located in the Garden Wing, the Garden Rooms feature either a single or a split level layout. Fusing colonial-inspired design with chic contemporary touches, the decor reflects both the hotel’s unique heritage and local Thai culture. Rooms also enjoy floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the garden and river, and an array of elegant furnishings.

Flooded with light, the Mandarin Rooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows that open to a balcony with views across the city and river. Décor enjoys an elegant, Thai feel with a king-size bed swathed in luxurious linens and a selection of furnishings upholstered in the finest silks. The bedroom incorporates a spacious seating area featuring a teak working desk, comfortable sofa and a coffee table. Guests can refresh in the elegant bathroom with walk-in shower, separate bath and spacious vanity area.

Located between the 3rd and 9th floors of the River Wing, the State Rooms enjoy panoramic river views. Entered via a teak panelled hallway, rooms are decorated in a traditional Thai style with dark wood furnishings and brightly coloured silks. Large floor-to-ceiling windows open up to balconies overlooking the river. Within the bedroom there’s a seating area furnished with a comfortable sofa, coffee table and large working desk. The adjacent bathroom offers a serene space in which to refresh with a large soaking bath and stand-alone shower.

The Executive Suites, located in the River Wing, are perfect for guests looking for a little more space. A sitting room lies adjacent to the suite’s stylish king bedroom. Decorated in a classic Thai style with rich silk drapes, teak wood furniture and beautiful artwork, suites exude elegance and comfort, while the floor-to- ceiling windows are ideal for admiring the beautiful river view.

Located in the River Wing, the spacious two-bedroom Family Suites are decorated in a traditional Thai style with dark teak wood furnishings and silk accompaniments. A separate sitting area adjoins the bedrooms, which are furnished with a king bed in one room and twin beds in the other. The bathroom offers guests the choice of a large soaking bath or stand-alone shower. Flooding the rooms with light, the suite’s floor-to-ceiling windows offer sweeping views of the Chao Phraya River. This is a smoking room, and not recommended for non-smokers.

Located in the River Wing, the Author's Suites are tributes to some of the great literary figures that have stayed at the hotel over the years. Individually designed, each suite pays tribute to one of these celebrated authors in name, décor and ambience. All feature floor-to-ceiling windows, a balcony, spacious sitting room, a large bathroom with separate bathtub and walk-in shower as well as a powder room off the living room; some suites also have a walk-in closet.

Located in the Garden Wing, the Garden Suites feature either flat or split-level layouts with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Chao Phraya River and our gardens. Lavishly designed, the suite features many beautiful decorative details including brass-inlaid teak furniture, hand-woven Persian carpets, parquet floors and soft furnishings upholstered in sumptuous Thai silks. The bedroom is comfortably spacious, while the suite's bathroom is equipped with both a large soaking bath and stand-alone shower.

Located in the original Oriental Hotel, the luxurious two-bedroom Ambassador Suite offers beautiful river views from a private Victorian-inspired glass conservatory. Stylishly decorated in shades of white and green, the suite connects directly with the Royal Suite, and when travelling with friends or family, three additional bedrooms can also be arranged.

Located in the original Royal Wing of the Oriental Hotel, the Royal Suite is the jewel in the crown of the renowned Authors’ Wing. Designed with the needs of visiting Royals, dignitaries and discerning guests in mind, it offers private access, meeting, fitness and spa facilities, as well as the option of additional bedrooms to accommodate entourage, family members or security detail. Decorated in the royal colours of yellow and purple, the design also features original mouldings, silver leaf, and exquisite crystal chandeliers.

Located on the 16th floor of the River Wing, the Two-Bedroom Theme Suites offer views of both the river and the city. Lavishly designed, the suites feature many beautiful decorative details including brass-inlaid teak furniture, hand-woven Persian carpets, immaculate parquet floors and soft furnishings upholstered in sumptuous Thai silks. Furnished with a king bed in one room and twin beds in the other, bedrooms are comfortably spacious, while the suite's bathroom is equipped with both a large soaking bath and stand-alone shower.

Inspired by the beauty of Northern Thailand, the Siam Suite features elegant living and dining spaces, two large bedrooms and a teak panelled foyer. Furnished with antiques from Chiang Mai, Persian carpets and a varied art collection, the suite is both beautifully appointed and eminently comfortable. Large floor-to-ceiling windows open out over the river, flooding the rooms with light, while a carved lotus cornice provides a true sense of space.

Named after the legendary ship The Selandia, the Selandia Suite is beautifully decorated in hues of pale ivory set against a background of hazy blues and rich scarlets. Furnished with silk draperies throughout, every detail from brass-cornered tables to the plush seating has been carefully thought out. The suite’s master bedroom features a pair of crystal and silver bedside lamps, while the adjoining bedroom suite pays homage to the great ship with teak floors, panelled walls and ivory cotton draperies. Views stretch out over the river.
