The hotel is located close to the Golden Triangle border town of Chiang Saen.

The camp has only tented accommodation and all 15 tents are built on elevated ground overlooking the Ruak River, Burma, the mountains of Laos or the Thai jungle. The camp is linked by a bamboo walkway and rope bridge.

The Rooms
Each tent offers a unique level of luxury with stunning features such as the hand-hammered copper bathtubs, elephant-tusk-styled door handles and taps hide covered furniture and open air showers that echo the romantic spirit of 19th-century explorers. The floor space of each tent is 54 sqm and there is a large decked balcony covering 37 square metres. Each tent features one king or two twin beds.

Additional amenities include air conditioning and heating, coffee and tea making facilities, a multi-line cordless telephone with voice mail, wireless high-speed Internet access and data port, an in-tent safe and a refrigerated private bar. Due to the Camp's remote location, only Internet newspapers are available. In an effort to protect the sounds of nature and the forest environment, televisions, DVD players and radios are not provided.

The Four Seasons Camp can only be booked on an all-inclusive package which covers everything from drinks and dining to river boat transfers and elephant mahout training. A full list is provided below:

The camp also has a good sized swimming pool and Jacuzzi set amongst the rock formations at the far end of the camp.

Dining at Four Seasons Tented Camp promises to be a wonderful experience and a key part of your stay. As a small, close-knit community never exceeding 30 people, guests share their dining experiences in locations that may vary from day to day.

Breakfast is served at Nong Yao, the main restaurant. Lunch may be a picnic in the jungle. After late-afternoon activities, catch a sundowner - 30 minutes of snacks and refreshments while you watch the sky turn golden and then dinner may be a private barbecue under the stars, a five-course formal meal or a dinner by campfire at Elephant Camp.

The Burma Bar is the best place to watch the sun go down or socialise with other guests after dinner. The open-air thatched-roof lounge is within sight of Elephant Camp and overlooks the Ruak River and Burma. Comfortable lounge chairs, lots of reading material and an open fire make this a cosy and inviting spot.

For excursions, picnic baskets can be prepared from a choice of items and served in style complete with folding camp table, stools and linen napkins (Fees apply to dinner and picnic baskets).

Guests may also enjoy a private dinner at the elephant camp. With torches for lighting and glimpses of elephant silhouettes nearby, a dinner at Elephant Camp is a truly unique experience which can be arranged on request. Fee applies. Alternatively guests may opt for a romantic dinner inside the hotels unique wine cellar.

Mahout Training - The main activity at the camp is Mahout Training and elephant trekking. Upon arrival at the Camp, guests will receive traditional mahout outfits. Training starts with learning to bath and feed an elephant. Guests then go on to learn the basic commands needed to drive an elephant, which they will have an opportunity to practise on an exploration of the Thai jungle.

Golden Triangle Excursions - In a custom-designed riverboat, guests cruise the Mekong River, passing villages and temples. Guests can also visit the town of Chiang Saen by car, where they can explore a local market, stop by a temple or do some shopping.

Spa Treatments - The Four Seasons Spa is open every day from 9:00 am - Sunset. A massage service is also available from the privacy of your tent. Private yoga classes are available on request, fee applies.

Traditional Craft Classes - take place on site every day. Local craftsmen will introduce guests to basket weaving, cloth weaving and pottery.
