Accommodation is offered in either tented or bungalows and there are options for family accommodation.

The 35 tents each have thatched roofs and large mesh-screened windows with a small veranda that overlooks the reserve. All tents are en suite with a shower and choice of either double/twin or triple beds. Water is solar heated. All the tents are finished with a taste of the local textiles.

The 5 bungalows (rondavels) are built in a similar style to the 'Masaai boma' style and offers a more spacious option for families and triple accommodation. Located near the waterhole allowing you to watch the animals from the veranda, yet set away from the main lodge for privacy. Bathrooms are en suite with solar heated showers.

The main lodge area overlooks the valley and has a large spacious indoor and outdoor dining area. This is open plan, leading to a bar and lounge area with large couches where you can relax away from the heat of the day. The swimming pool is large and inviting.

It is also possible to charge photographic equipment during the day when the generator is working.

Tarangire Safari Lodge is located about 10km from the main gate and whilst in a busier part of the park we do suggest full day game drives out on the reserve to explore as much as possible. The Tarangire National Park is an easy 3½ - 4 hour drive from Kilimajaro Airport and makes an ideal start to a holiday exploring the highlights of Tanzania. The park is also located with convenient driving from the Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro Crater areas as well. The park is a total of 2600sq km and is a beautiful park and much less ‘touristy’ than the busy Serengeti and Crater regions. The park offers some dramatic scenery with large baobabs and acacia woodlands making it popular with elephants. Best time to visit is from June through to October, although there is resident game all year round and it is great for cat sightings.
