If you’re looking for a friendly place to stay while visiting the astounding Iskandar Kol Lake, Iskanderkul Cottage is it. Recently built the simple cottage style property is ran by a local family, who’ll give you a big warm welcome and make sure you feel very well looked after during your stay.
The 20 rooms are basic, with western-style beds and each room has a TV, private bathroom and toilet. You can see Iskanderkul Lake from the cottage, which is only a short drive away. The scenery in the surrounding villages and around the lake is out of this world. Red rocky peaks cast shadows over topaz-blue waters and roaring waterfalls crash down into plunging gorges.
This is a fantastic base for trekking, but if you want to take a break from hiking, leave your walking shoes at the guesthouse and find a spot to relax on the pebbly shores of the lake and enjoy soaking up the scenery with your favourite book.
