Sailfish Male, Maldives - SLM021

What better way to explore the stunning atolls of the Maldives than on a private catamaran. Escape the ties of a resort and instead enjoy deserted islands, swim, snorkel and dive on your own timetable.

4 Bedrooms, Sleeps 8

Private Catamaran
4 Double Cabins
Flexible Itineraries
Experienced Skipper & Crew
Private Onboard Chef

Sailfish can sleep a maximum of 8 passengers in 4 double cabins. Originally built in South Africa in 2009, the boat is fully crewed with an experience skipper and a private chef. The crew will look after everything from navigation to meals so no previous sailing experience is required.

The Sailfish is 15m in length (48ft) and the catamaran layout means lots of space below and above decks. The 4 double cabins each with their own shower room a spacious living area although you will spent most of time on deck including eating meals. There is no air-conditioning in the cabins as otherwise a generator has to run all night, but the boat always lies into the wind and therefore there is constant cross-flow ventilation from the way it is designed.

Your itinerary will depend on the duration of your trip, time of year and how you want to spend your time. You will discuss this in detail with the skipper on arrival. You can head for the surfing waves on the edge of the atolls, stay in the calmer waters for snorkelling/swimming/fishing or take the dingy over to deserted sand-strips where you can picnic. For an extra cost dive courses and equipment can also be arranged.

Wind conditions are general light to moderate November to April and then stronger in the other months, but it rarely gets too strong to be port bound as the atolls and reefs break up any waves so sailing is generally very smooth. If the wind completely drops the boat has powerful engines so your itinerary is not disrupted.

Rates include all meals, snacks, teas and coffees, soft drinks, linen, towels, snorkelling, fishing, use of tender with 25 hp outboard and airport transfers.

For the perfect holiday we recommend combining a week on the boat with a week at a resort such as Lily Beach.
