At Gal Oya Lodge, you can enjoy boat safaris, jungle drives, naturalist walks, or just relaxing by the pool. There is something for everyone.

Eight spacious bungalows are nestled in the forest canopy, each one specially placed to take advantage of the spectacular views. Each bungalow consists of a private living room, spacious bedrooms with a king sized bed, ensuite bathrooms with both indoor and outdoor showers, floor to ceiling glass windows and doors which open onto a private veranda. One of the bungalows has 2 bedrooms, ideal for families.

The park encompasses the country’s largest inland body of water, the Senanayake Samudraya Lake. Many small islands providing one of the best places in the world to see the Asian elephant in its natural habitat. Gal Oya is the only place in Sri Lanka where safaris can be conducted by boat, jeep or on foot.

Gal Oya Lodge has a restaurant, bar and swimming pool, beautifully set by a backdrop of the low lying mountains. the furniture has been beautifully hand-made by local craftsmen. it is possible to book Gal Oya on a full board basis, which we would recommend.

Situated at the heart of Sri Lanka, Gal Oya National Park is 6.5 hours drive from Colombo so best incorporated into a tour. There is also the option to fly part of the way.
