Great for surfing and diving

The gullet is a 2-masted sailing yacht built in south western Turkey and Felicity has been brought over to the Maldives along with The Bounty her sister ship. At 28 metres (over 90 ft) she is a substantial craft and means there is plenty of space. The front deck is used for sunbathing and the main cockpit has a full sized dining table plus shaded seating on the large cushioned sofas.

The boat is fully crewed with an experienced captain, chef and 3 stewards who will look after you whilst on board. The food is a mixture of Maldavian, European and Sri Lankan and a tradition is to hang a huge bunch of fresh bananas in the main cockpit at the start of a trip and challenge the guests to get through them - not a chance.

As well as the main boat there is a "Dhoni" a 6m motor launch that will ferry you to snorkelling sites or a trip ashore. Activities on the boat include diving (at extra cost) swimming, snorkelling and surfing. There will be a chance to swim with turtles, rays and a multitude of tropical fish. There are also schools of dolphins in the channels between the islands.

The boat is based at Male Airport (Male is the capital of the Maldives) so you can on board and be on your way with 30 minutes of leaving the airport by water taxi. A route will be designed depending on how long you have. If you are looking for surfing then a trip north east along long the North Male Atoll, but if it is calm swimming and deserted islands that is required then Ari Atoll to the west is a good option. It is also possible to go ashore for a night out at one of the top end resorts and even in Male for a more cosmopolitan version of the Maldives. Finally you should consider a combination holiday with around 5 nights on board and then 5 nights at a resort.

The Felicity has a good level of specification with air-conditioning, TV and hot showers on board. The cabins are comfortable but small compared to a hotel room. There are 4 cabins with a double bed and 3 with twin beds. It is ideal for up to 14 people. The pricing is excellent value with rates from £150 per person day including all meals and bottled water. Soft drinks, beer and wine are also available at extra cost. There is an extra charge for transfers and if diving is required - please ask.
