'Despite having poured over the photos on website, I was blown away. Much bigger and more luxurious inside and fantastic outside - what a view! The guys there could not do enough for us, cook brilliant and even managed to cope with the demands of the kids. Don't suppose he has ever cooked so many chips! I really loved the place - too much really we spent too much time in the pool! It was perfect for us to settle in to Sri Lanka. The whale watching with Raja was great - blue whales and orcas - and they look after you really nicely as well with utmost respect for whales. Sadly it gets a bit crazy out there with all the boats chasing the whales - he does not.' J. Nash

'On arrival, we were totally bowled over. It's a fab place with great pool, views etc. We loved the food that was cooked for us and really loved the chilling out during the days in the pool. The staff (Pushpa and Indunil) were great; very smiley and laid back.' M. Avis

Enter the house over a bridge of railway sleepers above a trickling water feature and into a spacious living area with polished floors, handmade sofas and locally crafted furniture.

The main bedroom occupies the whole of the upper floor, with open plan living and an ensuite bathroom. Several sets of french doors lead out from the bedroom onto a three sided terrace overlooking the private pool, garden and ocean.

Downstairs there is a second double bedroom overlooking the swimming pool with its own patio and a smaller children's bedroom. The children room has a small double bed and room for an additional cot or single mattress on the floor. Both ground floor rooms have their own shower room and toilet.

There are two permanent members of staff at the villa including a chef. Eating at the villa is very reasonably priced compared to a hotel. Guests are also welcome to use the modern well equipped kitchen themselves should they wish to do so.

Guests are welcome to dine wherever they like. Either inside the open plan living room, outside on the veranda or beside the swimming pool.

The sand and grass garden goes all the way to the private beach gate where garden seating invites you to while away the afternoon. Please note the undercurrent directly in front of the villa can be too strong, but there is a safer area to swim 100m walk along the beach.

There is also a great collection of local restaurants to explore in Galle. Details of which can be found inside the villa's welcome pack or in our Fleewinter guide.

The Beach Hut is about 10 minutes from the historic town of Galle containing two of Sri Lankan's famous sites. The World Heritage 300 year old Galle Fort largely built by the Dutch, and the Galle International Cricket Ground. We can arrange guided tours of the Fort and restaurant recommendations for lunch and dinner.

Several scuba diving schools in the area will take you to wrecks and reefs and you can go whale and dolphin watching from Mirissa. There are also several local turtle hatcheries and the villa will arrange day excursions to Yala Safari Park on request.

There are 2 permanent members of staff at the villa - a house boy who lives at the property in the staff quarters and a daily maid. There is also a night watchman for the evenings.
