The Lagoons & Waterfalls itinerary offers a great diversity of experiences, starting with Cape Town. Fondly also called ‘the Mother City’.  Your time here can be spent exploring this vibrant city as well as the surrounding areas.  There is so much to do and see – from a visit to the Waterfront for some shopping… or take a drive around the Cape Peninsula.  Besides all that, the sunseekers can laze away the days on one of Cliftons famous beaches or around the pool…   Cape Town also boasts some of the worlds best culinary experiences with a host of different restaurants to indulge in – with anything from a local dish to more international cusine…

Afterwards the lagoons and waterfalls tour takes you up to the Garden Route.  Here you will have three nights, staying at a decadent owner run lodge where you will feel part of the family and be able to enjoy the many spaces of Kanonkop House!  The views from here are quite something and its hard not to get lost in this sweeping vista….

The lagoons and waterfalls holiday then winds down to the Winelands where you are staying in the heart of Franschhoek village and an easy stroll from the shops, pavement cafes and bistros.  Above all, there is a great atmosphere around this beautiful little village with its touch of French left by the Huguenots…

Finally you will fly up to Victoria Waterfalls where the last nights are spent on a private island in the middle of the Zambezi….  Your guide will take you to see the Victoria Waterfalls and perhaps you have some last minute gift’s to get back home – the local crafters are so talented that you will be sure to find something!    Your stay here also includes daily game drives into the Zambezi National Park which can offer some rewarding game viewing.   For the adrenaline seekers, there is bungee jumping, white water rafting (some of the best 1 day grade 5 rapids!)… or if you prefer the slower side then there is always the option of a gentle sunset cruise on the river…  there really is something for everyone!

Your Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival Cape Town

Arrival in Cape Town, collect your hire car and make your way to Three Boutique Hotel where you will be spending the next 5 nights in a luxury room inclusive of breakfast.

Why not start your holiday on a ‘high’ and head up to Table Mountain?!  From here you can enjoy a real birds eye perspective on the city and enjoy the sunset…  Or pop down to the Waterfront and soak up the great atmosphere which is so infectious that you could immediately feel that holiday vibe….

Day 2-4 - Explore cape town

The next few days you can explore Cape Town and all the areas surrounding this beautiful city.

Spend a day explorinng the Cape Peninsula – visit the local (and now famous) pengiun colony at Boulders Beach before heading too to Cape Point, where the 2 oceans meet.  The journey takes you around the dramatically winding Chapmans Peak Drive and the coastal route back to Camps Bay where we highly recommend a sundowner to end off the days adventure!

Day 5-7 - Garden Route

Today you have a longish days drive, but good roads and many interesting places to stop along the way. Arrival will be in the afternoon, where a warm welcome awaits!  Enjoy a sundowner whilst soaking up your commanding view of the Knysna Lagoon!

Your stay at Kanonkop House is inclusive of breakfast, house drinks as well as all return dinner transfers (exclusive to Fleewinter clients).

Day 8-9 - The Winelands

Today the road takes you back south where the next two nights will be spent in Franschhoek – the ‘French’ region of the Winelands!  Overnight is at Avondrood, located in the heart of the village and an easy stroll to the shops and restaurants.  Accommodation is in a luxury room inclusive of breakfast.

Spend the day explore the wine farms – maybe book a lunch on one of the farms and plan your day around this.  There is such a great variety right on your doorstep.

Day 10-11 - Victoria Falls

Today the holiday gets a little wilder as you fly up to Victoria Falls for the last two nights of your holiday.  Here you will be staying at the Vic Falls River Lodge, on the banks of the Zambezi River. Here you will be seeing the spray of the Falls downstream!

A stay here is inclusive of full board plus all activities which include game drives in the Zambezi National Park, a guided tour of the Falls as well as sundowner boat trips and daily shuttle into town.

Day 12 - Last day

Today is your last day to enjoy the Falls – there is time to squeeze in a last game drive or take an early morning boat cruise with your guide on the Zambezi River, enjoying the grunts of the hippos and call of the African Fish Eagles….

Later your transfer will take you back to the airport for the connection flight to Johannesburg.  Arrival is in the late afternoon, which always ties in well with most international flights heading back into London.    Bon Voyage!
