There are only 8 tented rooms - each are en suite with a wooden entrance door, adjustable canvas flaps for windows and mesh to keep the bugs out. All tents have a thatch roof plus a small veranda. There are twin beds with solar lighting plus the en suite bathroom has a shower, basin and flush toilet. In summer mosquito nets are fitted above the beds.

The main camp area offers a dining area as well as a lounge and kitchen plus a central fireplace, ideal to enjoy the African night sky. There is also a swimming pool that over looks the waterhole and the prefect place to cool down from the heat of the day.

Shindzela Tented Camp is an owner run camp and offers an authentic safari experience at an affordable rate. There is no 'frills and spills' - the focus is on good wholesome meals and offering you a great game viewing experience. If you looking for luxury then this is not the camp for you - however if you looking to 'get back to basics' and enjoy the bush with a small level of comfort then this is certainly the camp for you!

The camp is non electricity but they use solar powered lights, gas geysers and candles.

Your stay includes all meals, 2 daily safari activities which also include the option to do a walking safari. Activities are conducted by qualified guides and tracker team and they will share their knowledge of the bush with you.

The Timbavati Game Reserve is located in a prime big five location with dropped fences between Kruger so the animals traverse freely. This is one of the prime game viewing locations in South Africa.

Families with children over the age of 12 years are welcome. In quieter times exceptions can be made for children aged 10 years, however the walking safaris are limited to an age restriction of 16 years due to this being a big five area.

Easily included into a holiday exploring the greater Kruger region or to compliment with a bigger South Africa holiday.
