Makakatana Bay Lodge offers 5 Luxury rooms and 1 Honeymoon suite. Three of these are set in the dune forest and are frequented by friendly warthog, red duiker, nyala, bush babies, birds and hippo.One room has a view out through the bush onto a vlei and the other has a view through the bush onto the Lake.
The Honeymoon suite is situated privately with views out onto a vlei.
All rooms have en suite bathrooms plus outside showers, private viewing decks, mini bar and telephones. Rooms are spacious and are all air-conditioned.
The main lodge is positioned in the forest on the banks of St Lucia lake with wooden walkways leading off to the rooms. There is a dining area, lounge and swimming pool.
During your stay you can choose safari options that include game drives to Hluhluwe Game Reserve, beach safari, boat excursion on the St Lucia estuary, safrai drive into the Wetlands park. Birdlife is abundant as well as hippo, crododiles, antelope and Hluhluwe boats the big five as well as a variety of game.
