The 8 rooms are constructed of wood, thatch and canvas, each positioned to give total privacy. They are comfortably furnished with mosquito nets, fans and tea & coffee making facilities. A unique feature of each room is the romantic outside boma bathroom with bath and shower set in soft white sand under the forest canopy. Each room also has an indoor en-suite shower, toilet and basin. Shaded sandy pathways lead between the suites and to the main lodge area. Of the 8 tented rooms, 7 are double/twin and one if a family unit.

The main lodge area is open plan, built around a large Zulu Podberry tree. There is also a large open-fire place and a boma area located in the forest. At night you can enjoy the sounds of the bush babies as they play in the trees above.

The swimming pool is located on a dune overlooking a lake where you can usually see hippos.

Kosi Forest Lodge is the only private lodge within the Kosi Nature Reserve, forming part of the greater St Lucia Wetlands Park which is a World Heritage Site.

Kosi Forest Lodge offers a great base to explore the sites of this relatively unspoilt piece of paradise, from its dunes, lakes, untouched beaches and indigenous forests. Activities at the lodge include:
- Guided walk through the Raffia Palm forest home to a variety of birds and small mammals
- Canoe trips on the Sihandla channel located in the forest
- Boat excursion on the Kosi Lake system (a series of interconnected lakes which stretch over some 18km)
- 4x4 excursion to Kosi Bay Mouth - here you can swim in the warm Indian Ocean or at the river mouth. Limited snorkelling is also possible
- Visit Tembe Elephant Park home to the largest African elephants (Full details...)
- Horse riding to the beaches and hippos pools along the way
- Turtle tracking in season (Nov - Feb)

Great option for honeymooners and couples looking for an active, luxury holiday. We definately recommend a minimum of three nights here to be able to really experience this area.

Access to the lodge is by 4x4 transfer from a designated point. Easily included into a holiday exploring Natal, Swaziland and Kruger.

Kosi Bay is a malaria area and prophylactics are recommended - please consult with your doctor for their recommendations.
