The rooms are individually decorated and all have ceiling fans, wall heaters and tea/coffee making facilities. The choice of rooms is as follows:

Standard rooms (8): All rooms have an overhead ceiling fan and wall heaters as well as hair-dryers. Each room is furnished individually with luxury comforters & blankets or duvets. Each room has its own patio overlooking beautiful views. Some of the rooms only have a shower, so please request if you prefer a bath.
Luxury rooms (4): These rooms are larger than the standard rooms. Each have a large covered patio with chairs and table overlooking a magnificent view. The rooms are large with a separate lounge area within the room. The en suite bathrooms have a bath and shower. The Chestnut Suite is ideal for honeymooners with a his/her basin, corner bath and outdoor shower.

Soak up the sun next to the large swimming pool surrounded by a wooden pool deck with fabulous views which gives you the feeling of sitting among the trees - an ideal spot to grab the binoculars and birdwatch! A resident brown-hooded kingfisher is a delight to watch as he bathes in the garden birdbath!

The cosy bar and lounge (with satellite TV) is also a comfortable place to relax at the end of a day for a sundowner or drinks before dinner. Chestnut Country Lodge offer a 3-course table d'h?te meal prepared from only the freshest of herbs, vegetables in season and quality meats, fish and poultry.

Chestnut Country Lodge is an ideal stop for couples and honeymooners seeking a country retreat. Families with children over the age of 12 years are welcome.

Why visit the Hazyview area:
1) Located an an easy 4 hours' drive from Johannesburg, or just under and hour from Kruger/Mpumalanga International Airport. Great to combine a few nights here with a few nights in one of the nearby Kruger Private Game Reserves .

2) The nearby Panorama Route offers the most beautiful scenic surroundings, waterfalls and walking trails. The spectacular Blyde River Canyon and the 3 Rondawels are a must to see, along with Bourkes Luck Potholes and God's Window. To see all of this you do really need to have a full day free as not to rush all the sightseeing.

3) The area also boasts great adventure activities from the nearby Elephant Sanctuary is a must to walk trunk-in-hand with these majestic animals, enjoy the thrill of the Aerial Cable Trail, the gentle adventure of a scenic balloon flight or horse-riding, quad-biking and river rafting. Even if you are still visiting a nearby private reserve, you can also enjoy a safari into the Kruger National Park in an open vehicle.

4) Experience the Shangaan Culture at the nearby Shangana Cultural Village where the Evening Festival will delight the senses with singing, dancing & story-telling. For the golfers, the Hazyview area offers a number of outstanding golf courses to work on your handi-cap.
