The Victorian manor house offers 4 comfortable en suite bedrooms, with Victorian baths and over-head showers. Honeymooners can indulge in the Orchard suite which is set a little away from the main house, with a private veranda for extra privacy. The main house room all have large windows that open onto the wrap around veranda. Some of the rooms have their own entrances on the veranda.

There is a television lounge and library to relax, or unwind on the veranda in comfortable loungers. The dining room offers culinary treats, with food taking on a "French Cuisine" theme, with a South African touch.

Stroll in the large gardens with colourful flowers, soak up the sun by the salt water swimming pool or enjoy sundowners at The Deckhouse overlooking the lake.

High tea is a gastronomic affair with a variety of scones, meringues, cheeses, with farm made creams and butter.

A typical stay at Bartholomeus Klip incorporates all meals, plus an afternoon and morning game drive in the private 10 000 acre nature reserve. Guests also have use of mountain bikes to explore the farm and nature reserve at their own pace, or make use of the windersurfers or canoes on the open lake where you will find the Deck House - a great retreat from the main lodge to relax and enjoy the tranquil surrounds.

Bartholomeus Klip does not take children under the age of 16 years, however Wild Olive House is ideal for families and is booked on an exclusive basis.

Bartholomeus Klip is not only a working sheep and wheat farm, but also involved in a number of nature conservation projects in the incorporated nature reserve.

The farm is one of the largest in the Western Cape with 6 000 acres under cultivation of wheat, oats, canola (sunflower) and clover pastures, as well as 4 000 wool sheep.

The nature reserve is home to a variety of antelope, including eland, springbok, bontebok, wildebeest, gemsbok (oryx), red hartebeest and also the shy bat-eared fox, jackal, lynx, Cape fox. Leopard do reside in the surrounding mountains, however are very shy and are seldom seen.

The reserve florishes with plant life and there is a wide variety of fynbos, which offers a kaliedescope of colours during spring time.

Bartholomeus Klip successfully run a buffalo breeding project with 'disease free buffalo' as well as a very interesting project to help re-introduce the extinct quagga. The quagga is a zebra-like animal only with less stripes, and has the same DNA as the zebra.
