Ultimate Family Fun

Day 1. - Welcome to Slovenia

Arrive in Slovenia’s charming capital, Ljubljana and check in to your hotel for the next two nights. Your centrally located hotel is perfect for exploring.

Day 2 - Explore Ljubljana

Join a walking tour or explore by yourself Ljubljana castle, outdoor markets and stunning architecture. You’ll notice the legacy of modern architect Jože Plečnik around the city at worthwhile stops such as the National Library, Central Market and Triple Bridge. See who can find the most dragons!

Day 3 - Discover caves and castles

In the morning pick up your rental and make your way to Slovenias coast. But first stop off at Postojna, to visit Postojna Cave, one of the most-visited attractions in Slovenia.  Kids will love the underground train ride through caverns, halls, and passages. Before you leave the area, check out Predjama Castle. The famous medieval castle built into a rock. 

Then leisurely make your way down to Portoroz, where you will spend the next two nights.  Dubbed the “Austrian Riviera”, Portoroz was the place to see and be seen for royals, aristocrats, politicians, artists and actors in the early 20th century. It now offers itself as a charming resort town.

Day 4 - Beach Time!

Take it easy and relax on the safe and child friendly beach or the hotels pools. Jump off the many piers into the cool Adriatic sea. If you’re feeling restless take walk along the coastal path to the Strunjan Nature Park, for mesmerizing sea views. Later that evening make sure to  enjoy some Slovenian Wine as you watch an unforgettable sunset.

Day 5 - Beautiful Piran

No need for the car today. Only 3 km away, Piran is the perfect place to spend the day. offers an intoxicating mix of Venetian vibes and Slovenian flair. This incredibly walkable city makes for a relaxing day. Stroll around the main plaza, Tartini Square, where you’ll find souvenirs, entertainment, and prime people watching. Bask in the Mediterranean sun as you swim by the promenade. Wander the charming alleyways and dine al fresco by the waterfront. 

Day 6 - Magestic Lipizzan Horses

Enjoy your last morning at the seaside before travelling up to the mountains On the way visit Lipica, one of the oldest stud farms in Europe. Since the 16th century, this farm has been breeding the beautiful Lipizzaner horses. On the farm tour, you will get familiar with the history of the breed, visit the horse’s stables, and depending on the day you may be able to watch a display by the Classical riding school. 

Afterwards drive towards the mountains to the town of Bohinj, where you will spend the next four nights enjoying the Apline splendour. Depending on your time constraints you could take a detour and drive through the wine region of Nova Gorica.

Day 7 - Lake Bohinj

Slovenias second most famous and some argue most beautiful lake, Lake Bohinj is just 10 minutes away from your hotel. Spend the day enjoying lake activities, swimming, kayaking or SUP paddle boarding.

Discover the many walking and hiking trails around the lake, climb the many steps to Savica Waterfall or take the Vogel cable car for spectacular views of the Julien Alps and the Lake.

Day 8 - Lake Bled

Today visit the fairytale dream that is Lake Bed. Visit the island at the lake’s centre, climb up the church’s 99 steps, where legend has it the ringing of the bell can grant your wishes. Children will love the medieval Bled castle and you’ll love  picture-postcard lake views. For the more active you can choose between a plethora of shorter hikes through gorges or to scenic viewpoints. The craggy walkways and waterfalls of the popular Vintgar Gorge are just 2.5 miles from town and is an easy walk for smaller legs. Don’t forget to have a slice of the famous Bled cake.

Day 9. - Emerald River Adventure

Get ready for an incredible day out around through the jaw-dropping Vrisic Pass and around the beautiful Soca Valley.  

Various stops and easy hikes show you the hidden gems around the valley, you may even get to swim under a waterfall!

After lunch in the charming town of Bovec, stap on your lifejacket for a thrilling white water rafting ride down the emerald Soca River!

Before returning to Bohinj, you’ll enjoy the unique experience of the motorail. Sit back, relax and enjoy the countryside flying by for the forty-minute journey from the comfort of the car. 

Day 10 - Maribor and Glamping!

Time to leave the mountains behind and move on Slovenias second biggest city Maribor. Stroll around the pretty streets and learn about the oldest vine in the world!

Just outside the town is your luxurious glamping accommodation for the next two nights. Chocolate Village by the river. Stay in fabulous treehouses and indulge in everything chocolate!

Day 11 - Teta Frida Chocolate Factory

Get your taste buds and creative juices flowing and learn all about making chocolate at Teta Frida Chocolate Factory.

Later in the day take a dip in the natural swimming pool and maybe have some more chocolate??

Day 12 -

Settle in to your last stop at Terme Olimia. This award winning resort is the perfect place to relax and chill at the end of your holiday.

Day 13 -

Aqualuna Water Park is a kids water paradise but all ages will enjoy the different pools and slides!

The indoor Wellness Termalija provides hours of fun and relaxation for the whole family in the Pool Oasis and Sauna Complex. Spend the day splashing and swimming in the indoor and outdoor thermal pools. Play with water jets and float down the lazy river!

Day 14 -

The included kids club means that parents can sneak off off and experience the incredible adults-only Wellness Orhidelia thermal complex

Day 15 - Farewell Slovenia

Enjoy your last day in Slovenia before making your way to Ljubljana airport and returning the car.
