Located just outside Slovenia’s second-biggest city Maribor, you can easily visit this romantic town during your stay. While the riverside retreat is surprisingly quiet—thanks to its beautiful setting at the Natura 2000 Park. With the famed Drava cycling route, Drava river, Mariborsko Pohorje Ski Resort and hiking trails nearby; you can run, hike, sail, ski, plus enjoy lots of outdoor activities. (Which might come in handy if you want to work off some sweets.)
Arrive into Ljubjlana or Zagreb. If hiring a car, collect your car from the rental company, or meet your private transfer. The drive should take about an hour an a half.
Check into your luxurious tree house or lodge and enjoy your complimentary chocolate and wine.
Today you’ll be taken on a special tour of the Štajerska Slovenia wine-growing district. Begin in Maribor and learn all about the oldest vine in the world.
Then travel the famous heart-shaped road among vineyards to one of the largest and oldest wine cellars in Europe.
The tour includes private transfers, wine tasting and nibbles to go along with it. About 6 hours long, it finishes in the afternoon, giving you the perfect opportunity to explore Maribor.
Begin your day discovering the secrets of cocoa and the magic of chocolate. Create your own chocolate creation and indulge in Frida’s internationally awarded chocolate temptations with this special workshop.
In the afternoon why not do some of the famous Drava cycling route or try some water activities like kayaking or Stand Up Paddles boarding. Or even just head out for for a walk or run along the river.
Enjoy your last day relaxing before begining your journey home. Don’t forget to take some chocolate for the road!
