Where to stay in Singapore requires consideration of two things. First, where in the country would you like to be? We recommend being in the heart of the action: Chinatown, Little India, Kampong Glam, Marina Bay, or the Quays. From here, you can get around easily, walk to countless restaurants, shops, and many of the nation’s sights. If you want to be by the beach, then Sentosa is where to head. Second, what sort of hotel would you like? Boutique hotels are few in number – our top picks are below – and tend to have small rooms that only allow for two people although even if we mark it below as ideal for couples, that doesn’t rule it out for a family. If you’re travelling with older children, then one of the larger hotels may be a better choice. With a few exceptions, rooms tend to remain on the small side but inter-connecting rooms can keep you next to one another.
