Otherwise, one of the several independent dive operators on island would be happy to take visitors to the best sites to see coral and tropical sea life.

Kitesurfing has grown in popularity here in recent years with the country even having representation in the sport at the Youth Olympics. But you don’t have to be a professional kitesurfer to enjoy the beautiful winds of the Jabberwock beach, the most popular spot on island to catch a wave. A kitesurfing school and rental shop are available for those looking for a thrill. In Barbuda there is Palmetto Point which is popular with surfing enthusiasts.

Barbuda, a bird watcher’s paradise, is home to the must-see Frigate Bird Sanctuary, only a boat ride up the lagoon-away.
