Navutu Dreams might just be our favourite 'out of town spot' for seeing the wonders of Angkor. With beautiful white buildings sitting around three large pools, surrounded by tropical gardens it is one of the prettiest resorts in the area.
Located about 1.3km from Siem Reap, which takes just 10 minutes in a tuk-tuk, and about 5km from Angkor Wat, the sites feel very accessible despite feeling like you are hidden away in the very heart of Cambodia's rural beauty, well off the tourist trail.
Navutu Dreams has an intimate feel - do not be surprised if resort manager knows your name by the end of your first day! All rooms have a stylish, chic decor, with wonderful arches and splashes of colour against otherwise white walls. All rooms have gorgeous en-suites, air conditioning and satellite TVs.
The 18 Explorer rooms have a furnished veranda overlooking the garden or pool and a lovely sandstone bathroom and shower. These come with either a double or twin beds and connecting rooms are available for families.
The 6 Grand Tour rooms are the next size up, offering even more space. They boast oversized soaking tubs overlooking the private garden, separate showers and bathrooms embellished with local stones, a walk in closet and a large furnished verandah. They also share a spectacular roof terrace where guests can enjoy private dinners at sunset or just relax after a long day at the temple, while admiring the beautiful rice fields surrounding the property.
The largest rooms are the new Grand Suite rooms, which have two rooms. Couples can enjoy a King-sized bedroom and separate living room, while families can use the second room as a bedroom with two single beds. They also have large spacious terraces.
The resort boasts three swimming pools, with a lovely lounge and bar area besides the third pool near the Grand Suite Rooms. The pools are all in different corners, surrounded by luscious greenery, giving the resort a wonderful jungle feel.
Between two of the pools is a large, round restaurant and bar, made from woods and natural materials, which promises an atmospheric dining experience. Navutu Dreams offers a fantastic blend of Southern Cambodian flavours from the Kep Province, Italian Traditional Recipes, International Contemporary Cuisine, and lovingly created Vegetarian dishes. The resort's Italian owners also opened the much acclaimed Italian restauarnt in Siem Reap called Al Forno, but their restaurant at Navutu Dreams is well worth a visit in its own right.
The resort has a fabulous spa, yoga space and fitness centre on site too.
