Highlights of Palawan

Some say Palawan is the most beautiful island in the world. Explore its best bits on this 14-day route that takes you to the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River before heading north to bask in the beauty of El Nido’s aquamarine waters and limestone cliffs and the jaw-dropping scenery of Coron. You’ll have ample time to enjoy the beaches and islands of Palawan and relax in a quiet spot where it feels like the secret hasn’t quite gotten out yet.

Your Itinerary

Day 1 - Mabuhay!

This afternoon your overnight flight arrives in Manila, an energetic city with a historic heart. Your private driver will greet you at Manila Nino Aquino International Airport and transport you to your comfortable accommodation. We’ve not planned anything for this afternoon to allow you to recover from your flight, so relax or head out for a wander!

Day 2 - Highlights of Manila

Spend this morning with your guide and driver seeing the contrast of Manila’s new and old. Visit buzzing Makati, Fort Bonifacio, Rizal Park, and the historic heart of Intramuros. From modern skyscrapers to the cobblestone streets of a walled city, you’ll get a feel for the nation’s capital. The afternoon is yours to relax or explore on your own.

Day 3 - Travel to Puerto Princesa

After breakfast at your hotel, your driver will collect you and take you to the domestic terminal for your flight from Manila to Puerto Princesa. On arrival in Palawan, you’ll be met and driven to Sabang where you’ll check in to your seaside hotel. Enjoy the afternoon walking on the beach or relaxing at the resort.

Day 4 - The Underground River

Spend the first part of your day seeing the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You’ll see the first 1.5 kilometers of the cave during your guided canoe journey in one of the longest navigable underground rivers in the world. The cave is filled with stalagmites and stalactites formed over thousands of years and is inhabited by swifts and bats. Enjoy the afternoon at leisure.

Day 5 - North to El Nido

After a leisurely breakfast, your private driver will take you north to El Nido. Along the way, enjoy views of Palawan’s lush jungle interior. Once you’ve settled into your El Nido accommodation, the remainder of this day is yours to explore the beaches or town.

Day 6 - Island Hopping

Set out for a full day of island hopping and snorkeling on a private boat. The clear waters, rich marine life, and gorgeous scenery make this a day you won’t soon forget. Stops may include Secret Lagoon, Payong Payong Beach, Seven Commando Beach, and Big Lagoon. A freshly cooked lunch will be served during one of your many stops.

Day 7 - El Nido

Today is yours to head to the hotel’s private beach, explore town, or grab a tricycle/tuk-tuk to one of the further beaches. Whether it’s the resort area of Lio Estate or the buzz of El Nido town, there are plenty of places to visit although really, the hotel’s private beach makes for a great day with snorkeling, kayaking, and a bit of sun.

Day 8 - El Nido to Coron

Transfer today to the small El Nido airport for your flight to Coron, the northernmost island group in Palawan with some of the most iconic sights in the country. You’ll transfer across Busuanga to your friendly hotel just outside of town. Consider hopping on bicycles and heading into explore or catching the sunset from the rooftop bar.

Day 9 - Kayaking & Snorkeling

See some of the area’s most beloved sights and a few hidden spots on a unique day of kayaking and snorkeling. Your private boat will take you to spots where you can kayak into a cave, hike to Kayagan Lake with its incredible viewpoint, and perhaps a few popular spots like Siete Pecados and Twin Lagoon although the exact route will be determined on the day!

Day 10 - Travel across Coron

Enjoy one final morning near town – consider hiking up Mount Taypas for it’s views over the area you kayaked and snorkeled the day before! Then transfer across the island to your beach resort in a quiet part of Coron. Check in and make plans for the days ahead or grab your snorkeling gear and swim straight from the dock to the reef.

Days 11-13 - A few days to yourselves

These days are yours to relax, reflect on your trip, join a snorkeling or diving trip to look for dugongs, dive, kayak, paddleboard, hike up the hill, or simply take it easy by the pool or beach. A great time to think ahead to your next holiday, perhaps?

Day 14 - Fly to Manila and home

Check out today and take the resort’s boat to the pier where your driver will collect you for transfer to the airport in Coron and your flight to Manila. We’ve arranged a private transfer between the domestic and international terminals in Manila so you can connect easily to your flight home. Safe travels!

DETAILS -

This itinerary costs from £2650 per person B&B and is based on two people sharing during the high season (Nov-May) excluding the Christmas and New Year, Chinese New Year, and Easter periods. The price includes all private transfers and three domestic flights but not international flights.

International flights can be found from £800 per person return – do ask us for advice. Alternatively we can book the flights for you but a booking fee may apply.
