Your Itinerary
DAY 1: - WELCOME TO LIMA
Your private driver and English – speaking guide will welcome you at Lima airport. They will then drive you into the centre of the city and to your hotel in one of our favourite neighbourhoods. You may wish to head out and sample some of Lima’s fantastic restaurant choices or just rest and re-cooperate in your handpicked boutique hotel getting ready for your Peruvian adventure which starts in the morning.
DAY 2: - THE ULTIMATE FOODIE EXPERIENCE!
Today, we will teach you the culture of Peru through its food by taking you to visit a traditional market, its top restaurants, a Ceviche and Pisco Sour class, and districts that best represent this culinary marvel. We not only want you to enjoy this mouthwatering experience, but to also discover and fall in love with the best of Lima in just a few hours. This is more than just a food tour – and so much more special than a regular city tour.
DAY 3: - FROM LIMA TO THE SACRED VALLEY
After breakfast, you will be driven to the airport to take a flight to Cusco. On arrival your driver will be waiting to take you to the Sacred Valley, a beautiful part of the country nestled within between mountain ranges. Your new home for the next three nights is the beautiful Sol Y Luna. Relax in the heated pool or jacuzzi and take in the stunning views.
DAY 4: - THE HIGHLIGHTS OF THE SACRED VALLEY
Today, you will visit the Sacred Valley of the Incas for a day of mesmerising landscapes and culture. Your first stop will be the Archaeological site of Pisaq, an impressive construction with an amazing view of the valley as well as one of the most colourful market’s of Peru. After lunch, you will go to the town of Ollantaytambo and visit the Archaeological Complex, which was used by the Incas as a fortress during the time of the Spanish conquest.
DAY 5: - VISIT MACHU PICCHU VIA THE HIRAM BINGHAM TRAIN
You will be transferred to the train station for your journey to Machu Picchu today and this is sure to be a highlight of your holiday. As you board the Belmond Hiram Bingham train you will be greeted with 5* service and luxury ensuring you travel in style. Lunch is served on board. On arrival in Aguas Calientas a gudie will meet you for your tour of Machu Picchu. After exploring this lost city board your luxury train back and enjoy a delightful dinner on board.
DAY 6: - ANDEAN HIGHLIGHTS AND ON TO CUSCO
Today you will head out to explore the gorgeous landscape of the Andes. Begin by visiting Maras, the salt mines located in the middle of a stunning natural landscape that contains more than 3000 salt wells. After than continue to Moray, an impressive circular ‘andeneria’ that shows how they have developed their agriculture. A box lunch will be included so you take in the scenery as you eat. Finally visit the town of Chinchero, known for its textiles, before your driver drops you in Cusco and your luxurious Belmond hotel.
DAY 7: - HALF DAY TOUR OF CUSCO
Without a doubt this city needs a morning just to enjoy walking its gorgeous stone streets, listening the Andean music and falling in love with a glorious past, the Inca past that had the capacity to create this civilisation that we are lucky enough to experience with our senses. You will visit the Coricancha the Temple of the Sun and the Cusco’s Cathedral before enjoying the afternoon at leisure. Relax by your hotel pool and we recommend booking a Spa treatment or two.
DAY 8: - LUXURY OVERNIGHT TRAIN TO LAKE TITICACA
Your driver will transfer you to the train station for your luxury Belmond Andean Explorer train to Puno. This is an elegant train which takes you through stunning scenery of giant peaks and wide-open spaces of the highest plains in the Andes, finally reaching Lake Titicaca, the birthplace of the Andes. This is an overnight train which luxurious bedroom suites and top-quality meals served on board.
DAY 9: - RELAX ON THE PEACEFUL SHORES OF LAKE TITICACA
Arriving into Puno you will be met by the driver to transfer you to the top property here, Amantica. This small property oozes charm with floor to ceiling windows and outside decking to relax and enjoy the views of the lake. There are activities you can do from here or you may just wish to sit and read your book in this truly beautiful setting.
DAY 10: - A DAY AT LEISURE
A day at leisure to enjoy what this property has to offer. You have a complimentary activity per day. All meals are also included here so this really is a great place to end your holiday, enjoying high quality Peruvian cuisine in one of the most stunning locations you could find.
DAY 11: - BON VOYAGE!
Today we will fly you back to Lima (from Juliaca which is about a 1-hour drive from Amantica) in time to catch your international flight home. Safe travels!
