Your Itinerary

DAY 1 - Welcome to Peru

Your private driver and English-speaking guide will give you a warm welcome when you land in Lima. They will then drive you through the bustling capital to your boutique hotel in Miraflores. where you can relax and enjoy the evening at your leisure. We love Quinta Miraflores, it really feels like a home from home! (Premium room)

DAY 2 - Begin you Amazon adventure

This morning you will fly to Puerto Maldonado, where you will be met by staff from your Amazon lodge and board a motorized canoe along the Madre de Dios River to your hotel. Enjoy a lunch before a guided walk on the many trails from your property learning about primary and secondary rainforest. At dusk you will head out on a motorized canoe to see the Amazon come alive at night before returning to your hotel (cabaña, full-board)

DAY 3 - A Full Day of Amazon Exploring

Today will be full of experiences to really get a chance to explore the Amazon world! The day starts with a long trek through into the Reserve towards Lake Sandoval to board a dugout canoe in search of the endangered giant river otter, blue and yellow macaw, red howler monkey and black caiman. This afternoon you will head from the lodge for a canopy walk where you see the Amazon at a new perspective being in the tree tops. If you love insects join the guide for a night time walk.

DAY 4 - From the Amazon to the Sacred Valley

After breakfast, take the motorised canoe back to Puerto Maldonado. You will have time to visit the Butterfly House and learn about these beautiful creatures before taking your flight to the capital of the Inca’s, Cusco. A driver will be waiting here to take you to take you to your stunning property in the Sacred Valley with beautiful views of the mountains.

DAY 5 - Exploring the archaeological sites of Pisac

This morning your driver and guide will take you to the Archaeological site of Pisac, an impressive hilltop Incan citadel with ancient temples and citadels. As you walk to the top your guide will teach you about the importance of this area. Take in the stunning views. After wander the winding streets of Pisac itself and enjoy the daily market. Lunch at Urumbamba and the rest of your day at leisure.

DAY 6 - Via Ferrata, Zip Lining and Ollantaytambo

Transfer today to the heart of the Sacred Valley, Pachar for an amazing via ferrata circuit which takes you up the edge of the mountain for truly spectacular views and an experience of a lifetime! At the top enjoy a snack before you zip line your way back down to the ground. Your driver will then take you to Ollantaytambo, the gateway to Machu Picchu and where you will spend the night.

DAY 7 - Train ride to Machu Picchu

Waking right next to the train to Machu Picchu adds to the magic of today’s journey. Enjoy a hearty breakfast at your hotel before you are assisted onto your train. You will pass through beautiful countryside until you reach Aguas Calientas where you swap onto a bus to reach this amazing UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy a guided tour before heading back to Ollantaytambo for the night.

DAY 8 - Quad Bike through Maras and Moray before transferring to Cusco

The adventure today begins with a Quad bike adventure to the Salt Pans of Maras and the archaeological site of Moray. This is a fun and exhilarating way to see these beautiful sights. After this you transfer to Cusco, the capital to the Inca heartland, and an incredible city built on top of the original city walls. Rest of the day at leisure and we have some fantastic restaurant recommendations for you!

DAY 9 - A Walk through Cusco

Without a doubt this city needs a while morning just to enjoy walking its gorgeous stone streets, listening to Andean music and falling in love with a glorious past. In the tour you will also visit the Coricanchathe Temple of the Sun and Cusco’s Cathedral. This afternoon you may want to do some shopping and pick up some Alpaca clothing Peru is so famous for.

DAY 10 - An Unforgettable Train Journey to Puno

Transfer to the train station to board the Titicaca Train to Puno. If you are a landscape lover this is the train for you. Enjoy the best views of the Andes on board of the train as you are served meals and drinks. The journey is 10 hours, but it is sure to be a highlight as you take in the scenery around you in luxurious style. Arrive in Puno to your driver who will transfer you to your unique farmstay for the night.

DAY 11 - Day at Leisure on your Farmstay

Today we have left at leisure so you can enjoy what your property has to offer. Being a working farm, you can take part in the daily farm activities before a spot of horse riding. We would highly recommend this as you are in a unique and beautiful setting, perfect for exploring on horseback with your guide. There are also plenty of walking trails for all abilities.

DAY 12 - Kayak out to the floating Uros Islands

Your final full day in Peru will be another unique experience. Head out on Lake Titicaca, the highest largest lake in the world, by canoe. Your guide will show you the way across these clear waters to the floating islands of Uros this part of the world is famous for. You will be back in your property early afternoon to spend your final hours relaxing.

DAY 13 - Return to Lima for Flight Home

Today we will fly you back to Lima (from Juliaca which is about a 1hour drive from Fundos Chincheros) in time to catch a flight to Lima for your international flight home. Safe travels!

You can get flights from as little as £550 per person return and do ask us for advice. Alternatively we can book the flights for you but a booking fee may apply.

The Family Itinerary has been put together carefully so all members of the family can enjoy a unique adventure to Peru. You begin by heading into the Amazon in search of the abundant wildlife found here before heading to the peaceful Sacred Valley, the gateway to Machu Picchu. Here we have included Quad Biking and Zip Lining with guided tours of the main archaeological sites, including the impressive UNESCO Site of Machu Picchu. A beautiful long train ride gives time to reflect before ending in a farmstead where you can horse-ride, kayak, walk or just put your feet up and read your book in a stunning setting.
