The Green House is a small property located in the Sacred Valley around an hour from Cusco and 20 minutes from the town of Urumbamba. As you enter you are likely to be met by the three beautiful dogs which come as part of the experience here. It is a dog lovers paradise and perhaps not suitable for those who aren’t keen on animals.

The owner Kelly will welcome you as if it is your home and you will instantly be wowed by the floor to ceiling glass windows looking out to the beautiful mountains in all directions. The communal space is designed stylishly with brown leather sofas, reclaimed furniture and Peruvian rugs and cushions. A light and cosy space to relax with a central fireplace for the cooler evenings. A huge feature in this room is the large dining table which runs along one side where breakfast is served daily. Dinners are on request and are at a set time for all guests who want to eat in that evening. You will all eat around the table together, family style, and it is a wonderful place to meet new people and share stories. If this doesn’t take your fancy Kelly can order a taxi to take you to the town nearby (20 minutes) where there are a variety of restaurants - she has fantastic recommendations! Lunch is not available but there is an amazing café just down the road.

There are only four rooms here which are in one building right next to the main communal space. Our favourites are the two upstairs as they have high ceilings and balconies. The rooms are simple, comfortable and functional with clean bathrooms, but they are relatively small and do not ooze the light of the rest of the property. Having said that the rooms don’t take away from this being a favourite property of ours for its stunning location, incredible hospitality, beautiful gardens and fantastic communal space.

We love the Green House and think it is a fantastic option for your stay in the Sacred Valley but please do note this is run more like a boutique homestay than a hotel.
