The Tambopata Research Center (TRC) is a comfortable 24 bedroom lodge. Located in the heart of the Tambopata national reserve, in uninhabited wilderness that houses stable populations of endangered wildlife with special highlight of the world's largest and most diverse macaw claylick population. Tambopata Research Center is an excellent place for exploring the Amazonian nature and wildlife, with the in-house researchers and naturalist guides. The Lodge also offers great comfort and all meals and excursions are included in the room rates.

The lodge offers 4 different kinds of accommodations: Superior, Comfort, Suite and Deluxe. All rooms offer electricity 3 times per day and include a first-night-stay in Refugio Amazonas Lodge; as well as private bathrooms with showers and beds with mosquito nets.
Superior lodges are 21 m2 and have 2 twin beds. Comfort lodges are twice as big (44.5 m2) and offer 2 double beds and in-room WiFi. Suite lodges are 55 m2, offer 2 Queen beds, a ceiling fan and an extra bed can be added and has a sitting area and minibar. Deluxe lodge is the largest of the property (85m2), offers similar features as the Suite, and in addition an outdoor area with lounge, tub and shower.

While you're resting after a day full of wildlife adventures, you can enjoy the many relaxing amenities offered at the lodge. Take a nap in a comfy hammock in the common resting area or get a jungle-inspired massage for true relaxation. Lovers of artisan goods can explore our exclusive boutique of locally made crafts, while curious tipplers can try rainforest-inspired cocktails and classics like the Pisco Sour in the lodge’s bar.

Another unique feature is the Macaw Project, that holds its headquarters in the Tambopata Research Center, an ongoing research project on the spectacular Macaws of Peru and can be visited by the lodge’s guests.

To get to Tambopata Research Center, take a plane from Lima or Cusco to Puerto Maldonado. Then, take an hour road trip with the Lodge’s shuttle, followed by a tranquil three hours boating on the Tambopata River, to arrive at Refugio Amazonas lodge for the night. The next morning, take a four hour boat ride to finally reach the most secluded lodge in the Jungle.
