An eco-luxury lodge in front of Madre de Dios River, Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica has 35 wooden cabanas inspired in the Ese’Eja culture. With amazing biodiversity in and around the property, 540 bird species have been spotted in the hotel grounds
The property offers a varied selection of à-la-carte excursions, including a visit to the Inkaterra Canopy Walkway, a bridge system at 30 meters above the ground, allowing adventurers to enjoy a privileged view of the Amazon. In 2013, Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica was selected by National Geographic Traveler magazine among the world’s 25 best eco-lodges.
Reserva Amazonica offers 4 different kinds of accommodations: Superior, Superior Rio, Amazonica Suite and Tambopata Suite. All cottages feature balconies with hammocks, high thatched roofs and charming canopy-beds with mosquito nets; as well as wood furnishings and soft colours and red-tiled floors in the bedroom and seating area all ventilated with large ceiling fans. Although most of the lighting is done by oil lamps, electric takes to charge your gadgets are available.
Superior are twin rooms of about 38m2, Superior Rio are similar but with an expansive view of the Madre de Dios River. Amazonica Suites are larger (60m2) and offer a choice of 1 king or twin beds, larger bathrooms with double basins and larger lounge area. Tambopata Suites are the largest of the property (78 m2) and feature a private covered terrace with plunge pool, plus sunbathing chairs and outdoor shower in four integrated areas; as well as choice of one king or twin beds.
Among the hotel’s facilities, highlight to ENA Spa, located on the banks of the Madre de Dios River, facing Rolin Island, providing a great spot for watching Amazonian sunsets, adding to the relaxation with all natural amazon essences and products.
And for an additional fee, you can book a night in the amazing Canopy Tree House, a unique way of experiencing the jungle overnight 22 mts above ground!
The hotel also offers amazing activities for extra fees such as riverside sundowners, treasure hunting, kayak, cooking classes as well as vast array of excursions of different lengths and difficulty levels.
Reserva Amazonica’s restaurant, with all meals included in the rate, offers food inspired by the tropical flavors of the Amazon region and prepared with fresh local ingredients. They offer a daily international buffet breakfast; lunch and dinner are served à la carte. As well as daily lovely tea service.
Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica is adjacent to the lush Tambopata National Reserve, next to Madre de Dios river; only a 25-minute flight from Cusco. Daily flights from Lima via Cusco to Puerto Maldonado are available.
From Puerto Maldonado Airport, enjoy a 45-minute boat transfer along the river to the Lodge.
