Casa del Sol is a solid option for staying in Aguas Calientes, just a 5 minute walk from the sought-after train to Cusco, and sleeping next to the river is an outstanding soothing experience well worth a night. The rooms are very comfortable and the staff are super nice and flexible, making your stay extra pleasant.
There are 6 categories of rooms available: Single, Feeling the River room, Matrimonial, Double (or Twin), Triple and Matrimonial Suite. All rooms include breakfast, LCD TV and minibar.
The Single room is 18m2 and has a double bed, Feeling the River room is similar but located closer to the river. Matrimonial room is 24m2, has a Queen-sized bed and the bathroom has a choice of bathtub or shower, whereas the Double room is similar but has 2 twin beds. The Triple room has the same features as the Double, but the room is larger (36m2) and has 3 Twin beds. The Matrimonial Suite is the largest room (41m2), has a King-sized bed, a private terrace and a jacuzzi in the bathroom area.
Casa del Sol has a nice restaurant that offers breakfast, lunch and dinner, with ingredients sourced from local farming communities to offer a very tasty local fare. It also has a bar held by a very skilled bartender. Special mention to the extra friendly restaurant staff that manage to make everyone feel at ease.
Among the hotel’s facilities, you can enjoy the Spa with a variety of local treatments based on natural ingredients sourced locally. Among the services offered by the hotel, you can find special excursions and traditional andean ceremonies, ask at the front desk.
The hotel is located 5 min away from the train station and the main square of the town. Cusco City is 4 hours away by train.
