The original casona has been restored to its former prestige with beautiful hand-carved wooden balconies, stone patios, and stone archways that invite the past into the present. The Antigua Casona San Blas offers 26 brilliant rooms, a central patio with a fireplace, and an in-house bar, located in the charming narrow streets of San Blas district, for a true feeling of home away from home.
The casona offers 3 categories of rooms: Tradicional, Colonial and Senorial. All rooms feature charming décor, handcrafted wooden furniture built in Cusco, original art, antiques, quality bedding in addition to complimentary WiFi, heating and a flat-screen TV. We love that they fill water carafes in the rooms to spare you from buying plastic bottles - just one of many small details they do so well.
Tradicional rooms are located in the new building and offer a choice of King or 2 twin beds, have terracotta floors, are about 16m2 and include a small balcony that overlooks the hotel’s beautiful gardens. Colonial rooms are similar but slightly larger (18 m2), offering a King size bed, hardwood floors and a sitting area. Senorial rooms are uniquely designed rooms all located in the original casona of the hotel, are about 22m2 and boast a hardwood floors, a sitting area and bathroom with tub.
The hotel’s restaurant, Piedra & Sal, pays tribute to Peru's Criollo food with a menu from lunch to dinner that offers a taste of the many traditional dishes served in the highlands of Peru, in an upscale and very comfortable setting. We also loved the hotel’s dark wood bar with delicious cocktails and a very cozy lounge area. Buffet breakfast is served daily as well.
There is a lovely courtyard and in the late afternoon, they truly achieve to create a magic atmosphere with live music, an open fire, precious coloured alpaca blankets and...very appealing happy hour!
Antigua Casona San Blas is a walking distance away from various renowned Cusco restaurants and bars. Hatun Rumiyoc is 200 m and you’re just a very short cab drive away from the main square.
