The top of the South Island has got it all. A warm and sunny climate, beautiful, unspoilt, remote beaches, world-class vineyards, arts and crafts hubs, untouched forests and rugged mountains.
There is plenty of activities on offer. Kayaking between golden sand beaches in the Abel Tasman National Park whilst spotting seals, dolphins and native birds. Sailing in the sheltered bays of the gorgeous Marlborough Sounds and taking a hike to admire the spectacular coastal views from the Abel Tasman and Queen Charlotte tracks. Or getting some in-depth knowledge from the experts on the famous Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc and the lesser-known grape varieties grown in the Nelson area.
Nelson, Picton and the vineyard areas surrounding Blenheim are all lovely areas to spend some time in. In fact, it’s unlikely that you will want to leave this region at all!
