The resort is constructed from reclaimed materials and practices alternative sources of energy for power. Situated in the Andaman Sea off the southern tip of Myanmar, Upon arrival in Kawthaung airport guests are transferred by van 15 minutes to the Kawthaung Jetty where they will embark on an approximately two hour luxury speed boat transfer to the Resort.

The Resort has two different room settings: eleven Tented Beach Villas and three Tree-top Villas. They have been constructed using locally reclaimed materials, while creating the ultimate in comfort and design.

The eleven Tented Beach Villas are our favourite option and have unobstructed ocean views. The villas can accommodate up to four guests: two adults + two children (ages 8-17). Each Villa is 1500 square foot and has king size canopy bed, Generous size living area, trundle sofa bed with option to change into two single beds or one king bed; rear deck with large lounge area, Large front deck with seating facing jungle flora and an en suite indoor/outdoor bathroom with double vanity sinks and outdoor shower in a private enclosed garden

The tree-top Villas are set amidst a canopy of trees with ocean views and can comfortably accommodate two guests. Surface of 560 square foot, provided with: queen bed, seating area, en suite indoor double vanity bathroom with outdoor shower and balcony with a view of the ocean

The Resort offers many facilities as: Main Pavilion open air Beach Restaurant & Bar, River Café & Bar, Dive & Activities Center, Spa, Exercise Facility, Bamboo covered Game & Recreation Center and the Turtle Sanctuary & Island Conservation Center

The Main Pavilion Restaurant & Bar serves three delicious meals a day and accommodates 50 guests, while the casual outdoor dining at River Café & Bar seats up to 30 guests and serves light fare and drinks daily and BBQ dinners on selected evenings during the week. These two on-site restaurants serve a healthy blend of Asian and Mediterranean inspired dishes using organic produce from the chef’s organic garden as well as local community farms and sustainable fresh seafood caught daily from the Archipelago.

The Resort also offers a vast array of activities such as: Snorkel and dive, Kayak and paddle board through Wa Ale’s river and mangrove forests,Trek jungle trails and flora and fauna viewing, island hopping in the Lampi Marine National Park and Learn about the local “Moken” fishing community and turtle conservation.

Another interesting perk of staying at the Resort you’ll be directly contributing to Lampy Foundation. Wa ale Island Resort pledges to annually donate 20% of net profits and 2% of room revenues for sea turtle conservation, coral conservation, local employment and charitable donations.

Please note there is no air conditioning in any part of the resort, due to its eco-friendly nature.
