The whole of Skylake Inle Resort sits above the calm waters, with guests accessing all rooms via charming wooden walkways. Visitors can immerse themselves in the beauty of the lakeside scenery and sit back and watch the Intha villagers row by in their distinctive 'foot-powered' style.

All rooms are en-suite and a decorated in a traditional style with hand-crafted pieces and splashes of colourful fabrics. Lake View Deluxe bungalows, perched on stilts, overlook the picturesque waters and allow guests to take in the views from their balcony. Deluxe bungalows are equally spacious and comfortable while being a little set back from the water's edge. The rooms are decked out in dark woods, which admittedly does make them a little dark.

Dine with a view of the setting sun at the resort restaurant, which offers the best of local and international cuisine freshly prepared by their team of chefs. After dinner, guests can see performances of local culture and arts.

As well as trekking and visiting local villages, guests can hire boats and canoes and enjoy a trip on the tranquil waterway. A visit to the floating markets is also recommended. The resort also offers in-room massages for weary shoulders.

From Nyaung Shwe (which is around 45 minutes from Heho airport by car), guests can take a ten minute drive to the jetty, followed by a scenic 20 minute boat ride.
