Close to Magyizin village, this resort is sits on the east side of Inle Lake offering breath-taking views of the water and mountains.

One of the most luxurious hotels in Inle, the Princess is popular retreat for those looking to get away from it all in peaceful seclusion. We love so many 'little things' here like the fact that motor boats are not allowed close to the resort so as you make your approach, a rower jumps on board and rows you to the resort (using the traditional leg rowing method of Inle Lake!) We also love that every chalet comes with high quality binoculars so that you can watch the birds from the comfort of your terrace; and just wait to see some of the thoughtful turn down gifts you will receive each night!

Guests can stay in charming wooden chalets, built in the Shan and Intha styles, which sit above the lake on stilts. The resort has a total of 46 of these rooms, with the majority offering lake views and the rest overlooking the lush green gardens. Some rooms have balconies to allow guests to sit in the sun. The interiors are beautifully decorated with handmade furniture and gorgeous fabrics. Boat-shaped bathtubs add to the aquatic theme.

A range of chalets is available: Mountain View Chalet, Private Pond View Chalet, and Lake Front View Chalet (with outdoor shower).

Bird watchers can enjoy the wildlife and massages are also available to help guests unwind. There are also hiking and cycling trails close by for those wanting to explore their natural surroundings.

The restaurant has a great selection of local and fusion food (displayed on a beautiful handmade menu made from traditional Shan paper) and the staff give guests a warm welcome. The food is extremely well priced for a five-star hotel and this was some of the tastiest and best food we came across in Myanmar - we were particularly impressed with the wine menu, which was not only extensive but well priced considering most wine is imported from a long way. If you're interested, ask staff to show you the impressive wine cellar, which can actually be used as a private dinner cave! We can't think of a better place to open a chilled bottle of French white wine whilst admiring the lake views (that was our excuse anyway...)
