A conversation we often have with clients goes along the lines of “I want a weekend break and would love to stay in a Riad in the Medina but I also want to relax somewhere beautiful with a garden and a large pool”. This is the answer: 2 nights in a riad and then 2 nights in the Palmeraie which is only 15 minutes from the city centre but a different world. It is the place where the wealthy Moroccans had their villas with large gardens and guaranteed privacy provided by swaying palm trees. It works either way round – either Medina or Palmeraie first
Day 1 - Medina First
Arrive at the airport and within 15 minutes you will be in the walls of the medieval medina. A stroll through the alleyways and then behind the wooden studded door to your riad. There are many riads and a beautiful place is Riad Zolah for boutique hotel service, a gorgeous roof terrace and private spa. The location is perfect with the souks and main square only 5 minutes stroll awayAccommodation
Day 3 - A Change of Scenery
Today you head out to the Palmeraie for the next two nights but it is only a few minutes away so you can spend the morning in the Medina and head off in time for lunch. A lot of clients like to combine this day with an excursion to one of Marrakech’s gardens or even out to the mountains – this works very well as our driver will look after your luggage.
However the end point is worth getting to. Dar Zemora is our favourite place in the Palmeraie (actually one of our favourites anywhere in the world…) with its beautiful gardens, great chef and lovely poolAccommodation
Day 4 - Relax
Just take it easy and enjoy the gardens. Of course you may choose to go out for lunch or visit a garden or even spend the day at Dar Zemora and then go out to dinner. There is also a beautiful spa here and if you haven’t already experienced it we recommend the sensational Moroccan hammam scrub.
