'Accommodation worked quite well with Villa de l' Ol Essaouira. The staff were attentive and helpful. We had booked twin accommodation and the only drawback was one of us slept up in the mezzanine area and it was slightly precarious using the stairs in the night and also quite airless because the fan was no longer used as an air conditioner was in place downstairs. 'Essaouria ��?� very helpful when we said we had hoped for a sea view room ��?� she upgraded us to the best sea view room for no extra charge on the last night. The quality of décor etc was probably best at this hotel. The location was excellent for visiting the town. Very friendly and attentive staff who tended to our every need - be it getting tonic water, having mint tea always ready and preparing great dinners. It's the little extras that make the difference - rose petals in the pool & bathrooms, getting champagne glasses especially for us, always a smile & friendly word!
The riad is very pleasant & the room we had was super. We ate in the courtyard because believe it or not, it rained for 2 days!!
The special birthday dinner on the Saturday night was fantastic - the musican was very good & added a lot to the atmosphere of the black tie dinner with champagne for starters. Villa de l'O was also very comfortable. We were fortunate to have one of the larger rooms with a window looking out onto the ramparts. Guests in the smaller rooms which only looked inwards onto the courtyard complained about them being very dark. The staff were charming and breakfast on the roof terrace a real delight. An 18th century Riad, Villa de l'O has been entirely renovated, preserving the original internal structure.
The architectural style is achieved by a combination of traditional stone, dark polished wood and beautifully made fabrics. This traditional style is blended with all the comforts and technology you'd expect from a modern boutique hotel.
"L'Oasis", is the central courtyard where guests can meet to have a drink or relax. Harmoniously distributed around the patio, a variety of atmospheres are created the lounges and treatment rooms. Relax in a deep couch by a fireplace for reading, or for a game of chess. The spa features a traditional hammam and treatment rooms for massages.
"L'Oxygene", is the villa's roof terrace where there are plenty of sunloungers and a Jacuzzi. There is also a bar serving food and drinks but high light has to be the view - which is probably the best in Essaouira.
12 exceptional rooms and suites combine comfort, luxury and privacy. Some of them overlook the Bay of Essaouira, with a great view of the island of Mogador, while others offer you a more intimate setting opening on to the inner courtyard. The rooms split into 3 categories. "Unik Prestige" are the entry level and they are inward facing so can be a bit dark for longer stays. "Unik Suites" are the mid priced rooms and have an external window.
