Villa Sophia is loved for its private pool, large garden, surrounding countryside and breathtaking views towards the Atlas Mountains from the roof terrace. As the villa is one of a group of villas on the Apple Gardens estate, guests have access to a range of shared facilities too, including tennis, golf, putting, mini football and a children's playground.

Villa Sophia is a great base for exploring Morocco. Just 20 minutes drive away is the vibrant city of Marrakech, home to numerous UNESCO protected sites including the world famous Jemaa El Fna. Trekking and skiing in the Atlas Mountains or swimming in the sea at Oualida are among our favourite day trips.

You may prefer to hire a car or we can arrange a driver and airport transfers. A local cook can prepare a delicious arrival tagine and further cook service can be provided for the duration of your stay. Otherwise a range of good local food can be bought easily from nearby markets. Our local contact is on hand for any assistance you may need to ensure you have a relaxing and memorable holiday.

The owners have kitted out Villa Sophia with their own family in mind so guests with young children will also feel at home. Outside there is plenty of space for little ones to let off steam in the garden or pool. Inside we have plenty of board games and a DVD player.

There is a parking area for all cars belonging to those staying in the Apple Gardens villas so the whole estate is a car free zone. A children's playground, mini football and tennis courts are popular with our boys and our bicycles are available for any of our guests to use.

Camel rides, donkeys in the Atlas Mountains, street theatre in the Place El Fanna surprise and delight children. Less cultural activities also available are a nearby water park and for older children, quod biking and rafting.

Sightseeing or visiting the Medina can get hot and it is important to know how to escape, when needed, to a cool caf?, nearby gardens or a child friendly restaurant. As a family with three young children, we will give you all the guidance you need for a happy holiday.

All the rooms in Villa Sophia are on the ground floor with a staircase outside leading from the garden to a large roof terrace. The villa sleeps a maximum of 6 people. Here are further details of the rooms and equipment:

Three bedrooms: Two double bedrooms and one twin bedroom (which can be made up as a double). All three bedrooms have patio doors to the garden, two to the front garden and the master bedroom looks onto the back garden and pool. There is also a plasma TV in the master bedroom. A travel cot and linen can be provided if requested well in advance.

Three bathrooms: One bathroom is en suite to the master bedroom and has a shower and bath. The other two have showers only, no bath. One is en suite to the twin bedroom.

The kitchen: Facilities include a fridge freezer, dishwasher, electric oven and gas hob, toaster, kettle and food processor. The washing machine is in a separate garden room.

The sitting/dining room: The largest room in the house with a log fire for the winter, a seating area, 2 sofas and a dining area. Large patio doors lead to the outside dining area, private swimming pool and garden.

Roof terrace: With outside comfortable seating (low walls) and accessed only by way of an open outside staircase from the garden.

Garden and pool: The pool is 8m x 4m and on average 1.2m deep. Access into the water is by way of two steps and gentle slope in. It has night lighting, it is cleaned daily and has its own filtration system which runs at intervals throughout the day. It is not heated, alarmed or fenced. There is also an outside dining area and sun loungers.

Linen and towels: One set is provided for each guest. Extra linen changes can be arranged for an additional cost. Please bring your own beach/pool towels.

Entertainment: Satellite TV (a couple of English channels) and a DVD player with a good selection of DVDs. Games include chess, backgammon, monopoly, cluedo and scrabble. Some novels and a good selection of guide books are provided.

There is an air conditioning and heating unit in all the rooms which can be used for no extra charge.

Maid service: An arrival and departure clean is included in the villa rental. Further cleaning can be arranged for an additional cost.

Food: An arrival tagine and welcome provisions can be arranged. Full details will be sent with your confirmation.
