Short history of the Riad Dar Anebar :
Walking through the gate Bab Guissa you enter the ancient medina of Fes. There stands the historic Palais Jamai Hotel . Beyond this massive building unfolds the intricate network of lanes where an acute orientation capacity is required. You reach a dead-end with rugged walls at the end of which a rustic wooden door opens up on a narrow corridor at the end of which you can read Dar Anebar. This is the name of the Guessous family elder mother. Now you are- away from the bustling markets and streets- in a quite and peaceful spacious patio flanked by four two- storey fa?ades. We definitely get the feeling of an immersion into a riads in Fez rich history.

It began with the life of a family that was faced with major historical events. In fact when Arabs were driven out of Spain in 1936, the Guessous family left from Melia to Fes. In 1963, after the grand father passed away, the family moved to Casablanca and the house was to be sold. One of the grand children of the owners, Abdelhamid and his wife, Nadia, decided to recover this beautiful house and managed doing so in 2000. Then a long and minute renovation operation started.
The young owners decided to include varied styles from all over the country in the new face of the house. Walls are coated in the Marrakech artisans' style of Tadellakt. The glazed tiles, Zelliges, underline the entrance arches and add to the beauty and refinement of the courtyard and its fountain. They also enhance the ornate suites around the patio.

Riad Dar Anebar offers you 4 suites, a standard double room and three living rooms of different colours, straw yellow, blue and green, each one open on the patio with its fountain. The roof top terrace and veranda offer a fantastic view overlooking the ancient city of Fez. In this Moroccan guest house, suites and room are equipped of a bath tub, TV, mini bar and air conditioner.

A delicious breakfast consisting of a wide variety of local homemade product served on request in the inner courtyard, in your room or on the terrace overlooking the ancient city.
