A member of the Moroccan Hideaways group of riads, kasbahs and lodges, Riad Africa is a classically styled Marrakech riad with charm, ambience and character.

From the Congo to Timbuktu, all guest rooms are en-suite and come equipped with reversible air-conditioners/heaters, flat-screen TV's, bath robes, a hair-dryer and personal safe. High speed wireless internet access is available throughout the riad.

Guests can cool off in and relax around one of the largest plunge pools in the medina. Three tranquil palm-filled courtyards, a comfortable roof terrace, dining room and a salon, a bar and 4 roof garden/terrace's offer a choice of public areas in which to unwind. A range of health and beauty treatments are also available including an Arabian massage/treatment room and hammam.

Pools
A key feature of Riad Africa is its central courtyard pool - perfect for a quick dip after a day sightseeing. At 16 square metres in size and with a depth ranging from 0.8m to 1m it is one of the largest pools of over 1,000 riads located in Marrakech medina.
Mindful of the environmental impact of heating the pool and excessive energy required, the pool isn't heated. Typically guests use the pool between the months of April and October but it is open year-round. A second, smalller pool is heated fromNovember to April.

Douriya Salon
A smaller salon is located in and around a second palm-fringed courtyard in the adjoining house. With a fountain and fresh juice/coffee bar the Douriya Salon is a popular spot for breakfast, afternoon coffee or early evening fresh fruit cocktails. This part of the riad is also an ideal place for a refreshing pot of mint tea.

Grand Salon
Located on the ground floor, directly opposite the pool, our Grand Salon (lounge) doubles as a breakfast/dining room. The salon is stylishly designed and has been recently refurbished in beige, cream and opulent red. The salon has a corner fireplace with warming log fires lit on the occasional chilly winter evening. Facilities in the salon include twin reversible air-conditioning/heating units, wireless internet access, selection of games and a growing collection of books and other reading material. The walls of the Grand Salon are adorned with a selection of fascinating sub-Saharan carved masks, each with a story to tell.

Arabian Spa
Close to the pool is a massage room and hammam. A massage from experienced masseuse, can be arranged locally. A range of treatments are available.

Roof Garden
Covering almost 500 square metres Riad Africa's roof terrace is a real haven of peace and tranquillity, offering wonderful views out over the medina to Djemaa el Fna and Koutoubia. Two Caidial Tents provide respite from the sun and a place to lounge and relax. Garlanded with yuccas, geraniums, bougainvillea, lemon and orange trees the terrace is a delightful spot to take breakfast or a romantic candlelit evening meal. Sun loungers and parasols are available for guests wishing to lay back in the shade. In winter months the peaks of the High Atlas Mountains can be seen to the south of the city.

Restaurant/Breakfast Room
Breakfast is enjoyed on the roof terrace of Riad Africa, served as a buffet with a waiter service, in a recently built restaurant. Themed in African style the facilities include a large fire log for chilly winter mornings, a corner bar, air-conditioning and expresso machine.

Cooking school
The Marrakech Cooking School is located in Riad Africa, a purpose-built location on the ground floor, with daily classes of up to 8 guests available in the mornings and afternoons. Classes are also conducted on the roof terrace.
