Your Itinerary

Day 1 - Welcome to Malaysia

Selamat datang! Upon arrival at Kuala Lumpur International Airport your driver will meet you and take you to your quiet hotel in the city. We haven’t planned anything for you today so that you can relax and settle in. Consider a walk through the residential area around your hotel.

Day 2 - Explore Kuala Lumpur

You’ll have a full day of touring today, starting with a walking tour of the city’s historic highlights including Masjid Jamek, the Panggung Bandaraya Building, and Independence Square. In the afternoon you’ll head out of the city to visit the Royal Selangor Pewter Factory and the Batu Caves. The latter is marked by a 140-foot tall statue of the Hindu god Lord Murugan.

Day 3 - Fly to Penang

This morning is yours to relax before taking a short flight to the island of Penang. Once there, you’ll be met and transferred to your heritage hotel in the heart of George Town. The city is easily explored on foot so consider heading out for an evening stroll.

Day 4 - George Town Heritage

Discover George Town’s diversity and history on a morning tour. Your guide will take you to Buddhist, Taoist, and Hindu temples, an Anglican church, and a Muslim mosque as well as the Khoo Kongsi clan house, and Fort Cornwallis. The afternoon is yours to explore on your own.

Day 5 - Traditional Cooking Class

After a local breakfast with renowned cook, Nazlina, visit a local market to pick up ingredients before beginning the real fun of the morning. Nazlina will guide you through making traditional Malay dishes from scratch: including hand-squeezing coconut milk. Once you’ve cooked and eaten your feast, the remainder of the day is at your leisure.

Day 6 - Langkawi Bound

Today you’ll fly to your final destination, Langkawi. With ancient rainforest teeming with life and gorgeous beaches on which to relax, it’s the ideal place to end your introduction to Malaysia. We’ve planned nothing for you today other than your flight and getting you to your beachside hotel.

Day 7 - Mount Macincang and Black Sand Beach

Venture up Mount Macincang by Sky Cab for views of Seven Wells waterfalls and the entire island. On a clear day, you might see Thailand from the top. Look for macaques and dusky langurs in the trees. Once you’ve ridden back down, pay a visit to Black Sand Beach.

Days 8-9 - At leisure in Langkawi

These days are yours to relax on this island piece of paradise. Head to the white sands of Pantai Cenang and take it easy. We’ve planned one final introduction to Malaysia for you: a sunset cruise aboard a yacht. The 99 islands of Langkawi are quite the sight as the sun sets so enjoy this evening sail, cocktail in hand.

Day 10 - Farewell Malaysia

Today you’ll be transferred to Langkawi International Airport for your flight homeward. Safe travels!

Kuala Lumpur
Bustling, vibrant Kuala Lumpur is home to an incredible array of old and new. Colonial architecture and modern skyscrapers, gourmet restaurants and simple street food stalls, luxurious hotels and shops, beautiful parks, mosques, and temples fill the city. The city is truly a feast for all five senses. More
Melaka
The port town of Melaka (formerly spelled Malacca) has been influenced by Portuguese, Dutch, British, Chinese, Indian, and Malay settlers and rulers. The resulting mix of culture, food, and architecture makes Melaka an ideal spot to see, taste, and experience the diversity that makes Malaysia such a unique part of Asia. Although you can visit in a day from Kuala Lumpur, we think it's worth an overnight visit. More
George Town
On the island of Penang sits the UNESCO-designated cultural highlight of George Town. It's home to some of the best food in the country, street art fun for all ages to find and enjoy, Chinese and Indian temples, British colonial buildings, pleasant beaches, a hill with stunning views of the area, and delightful boutique hotels. George Town truly offers a wealth of options for every visitor. More
Langkawi
Formally known as Langkawi, the Jewel of Kedah, the island boasts beaches, rainforest, monkeys, mangroves, and views to Thailand from an incredible hanging bridge atop Mount Mat. More
Cameron Highlands
Once the favoured hill station of British expatriates in Malaysia, the Cameron Highlands is a cool respite from the tropical heat. Tea plantations, giant rafflesia blooms, and a mossy forest that feels straight out of a story book can all be found here. More
Tioman Island
Well known to divers, Tioman is home to incredibly rich waters teeming with life, making for great snorkelling and diving. With beautiful beaches and pleasant walking trails through the jungle, it's a beautiful place to relax. Best visited March through mid-October as we don't recommend trying to reach the island during monsoon season. More
Perhentian Islands
The clear aquamarine South China Sea meets white sand beaches on the Perhentian and Redang islands. There are no roads on these islands, only foot paths and water taxis. We only recommend visiting between April and mid-October to avoid rough crossings and restaurants and resorts closed for monsoon season. More
