Elegant hotel built around a 1920s Straits settlement mansion on the banks of the river.

An exquisitely maintained Peranakan mansion sits at the heart of The Majestic Malacca. Original tiles are polished using traditional techniques, photographs and maps of old Melaka adorn the walls, and the level of service is second to none.

Each stately room and suite offers river views, bespoke furnishings including four-poster beds and silk-upholstered chaise longues. Clawfoot bathtubs, silk draperies, and other luxurious touches call to mind the days when Chinese junks and spice-laden vessels plied the waters and the region passed from one empire to another.

Deluxe Rooms have an open-plan concept with sliding wooden doors separating the sleeping area and bathroom. Located on the top floor, spacious Majestic and Tanquerah Suites include comfortable seating areas and boast impressive views of the Malacca River and Kampung Morten, a traditional Malay village.

The Mansion serves breakfast and dinner with a variety of offerings including traditional Kristang (Melaka-Portuguese) recipes from the chef's family collection. Lunch and Peranakan afternoon tea are available in The Lounge and The Bar offers an extensive range of cocktails and mocktails.

Spa Village Malacca provides a menu of treatments and therapies that pull from Peranakan culture: a blend of Malay and Chinese influences unique to this part of the world. A guided walk of the city's historical highlights is offered in the morning and early evening six days a week.

The Majestic Malacca is set along the Melaka River, approximately ten-minutes drive or fifteen-minutes walk to area highlights such as the Statdhuys and Jonker Street.
