"It was absolutely perfect for what we wanted and needed.... complete rest, peace and quiet, beautiful place with history. Visually extremely beautiful. The houses are just gorgeous. Clean, well serviced, comfortable western-style mattress and bedding etc. Lovely bathroom with quirky traditional wooden bath! Beautiful, well-maintained gardens. Staff were lovely. Always available, but not too over-attentive." - KR, Sept 2019

A collection of traditional Malay houses restored and furnished to provide comfort and a touch of heritage near the beach. The garden by the sea setting is ideal for those seeking quiet and relaxation.

The villas have a verandah, air conditioning, and ceiling fan. For those who prefer to let in the ocean air, a mosquito net may be lowered over the bed. Each room is different. Some have one queen sized bed and other two singles. Many have a traditional wooden bathtub. All are furnished with hardwood pieces befitting the age and style of the buildings.

Sesayap Courtyard serves a mix of western and Malay dishes in an open air setting with views of the Setiu wetlands and South China Sea. A small spa offers massage and other treatments. Kayaks and bicycles can be hired and a guided tour of the village arranged. An air conditioned reading room provides a small haven for those seeking a cooler place to curl up with a book.

Terrapuri Heritage Village is set along Malaysia's northeast coast, approximately one hour north of the airport in Kuala Terengganu. The region is somewhat remote so there is no WiFi and even mobile coverage can be spotty. This is truly a place to switch off.
