A one-way trip is the ultimate Ionian sailing itinerary.

Starting or finishing in Corfu, you will visit seven islands in seven days, taking in the highlights of each.  The one-way trip is perfect for those after a blend of sailing and exploring.  The gap between the North and South Ionian enjoys some of the beautiful vistas of uninterrupted horizon toward Italy, and the next island appearing on the horizon.

Days are spent enjoying the best that the Ionian has to offer: from the crystal clear waters of Paxos to the ancient history of Ithaca and every island in between.

The distance between the North and South Ionian also allows for one afternoon enjoying some time further away from land.  This is a day where the likelihood of seeing dolphins is far greater in the open water: our sailing team have also seen tuna, swordfish, Mahi-Mahi and some beautiful sea birds!  Always in sight of the land, this is a beautiful day on the water and a chance to really stretch the legs of your yacht enjoying some of the best sailing the Ionian has to offer.

For the more adventurous sailor, a trip from North to South is a fantastic way to really put your yacht through her paces.

Your Itinerary

Dinner on the stern of a yacht

Day 1 - Welcome Aboard

Arrive and settle in.  Our aim is to get out of the marina as soon as possible to find a nice anchorage for a late afternoon swim, followed by a relaxing dinner on board.

Day 2 - Paxos-bound

After a leisurely breakfast we will head south down the Corfu channel toward Paxos, stopping in a bay en route for lunch and swim before heading to Paxos for the evening. Now the first big decision – where to moor?  Lakka for the lovely bay, Gaios for a bit more buzz or (our favourite) Longos for a relaxed intimate feel.  At each destination there are excellent options for dinner ashore.

Day 3 - Bay Days

Today you have the option to spend another day around Paxos, or a lovely option is to make the short trip to the sister Island of Anti-Paxos – there are no villages or ports but some of the most beautiful bays in the Med (most of the photos on the website were taken there).  Spend a morning and early afternoon there and then when the wind comes in after lunch, do the short hop to the mainland and a night at anchor in Two Rock Bay or, if this is a bit quiet go ashore at picture-postcard Parga.

Day 4 - Heading South

Life is developing a bit of a pattern now, a quiet morning with swimming, paddle-boarding and maybe some watersports (ringo, water-skiing or if there are any youngsters onboard it will be nothing but wakeboarding). Then a lazy lunch and with the afternoon wind head south in time for the swing bridge that opens up the Levkas Canal and the entrance to the southern Ionian islands.  For a bustling town we stop at Levkas but just an hour further on there are some lovely bays on Meganissi.  Dinner on board, or stroll into Vathi for the best “gyros” in the the Ionian.

Day 5 - Meganissi and Ithaca

Only a short distance today so no hurry to get going.  The end-point is probably the prettiest village in the south, Kioni on Ithaca, but on the way a lunch stop at the spectacular Afales Bay or the caves on the west side of Meganissi.  Then into the village for dinner but only after a visit to the bar that serves the best espresso martinis this side of Athens.

Day 6 - Fiscardo

The last full day is by no means a quiet one.  A lazy start from Kioni to one of our secret private bays and then around the northern tip of Ithaca and into Fiscardo, the most cosmopolitan of the Ionian villages.  It will be super-yacht central and time to do some people watching.  Be sure to break out the smart togs for an evening ashore.  Of course we will moor away from the crowds and your skipper will escort you directly to your dinner table by private speed-boat.

Day 7 -

It’s time to say goodbye.  Our driver will take you to the airport, or it’s also wonderful to spend a few days relaxing on Kefalonia after your holiday…
