This simple beachfront yurt camp lies just outside the village of Bokonbaevo, fringing the brilliant blue waters of Issyk-Kul Lake. Bel Tam Seaside Yurt Camp gives you the chance to experience the real Kyrgyzstan, travelling off the tourist trail to get an insight into local life. This authentic yurt-style accommodation is a nod to the centuries-old nomadic culture of Central Asia.

Built with natural materials, the four yurts are basic but comfortable. They have heating, power and the beds are warm and cosy, with big heavy blankets to snuggle up under at night. Hot showers and toilet facilities can be found in the shared area of the camp.

Stargazing is spectacular here as there is very little light pollution. On a clear night, pull your blankets outside and settle down on the grass, watching for any shooting stars darting across the inky sky. Dining is a sociable occasion, as you’ll join other guests from neighbouring yurts to share a family-style meal together. Breakfast is continental and traditional Kyrgyz cuisine is served for dinner. You might also get the chance to experience one of the camp’s folk nights – a fun evening full of lively music and dancing.
