Tumaren Camp is situated on the periphery of a wide plain which is inhabited by a number of plains game, including giraffe, and looking out onto a series of granitic kopjes. The campsite is equipped with 4 spacious luxury sleeping tents, solar lighting and running water. Each of the tents can accommodate up to 4 people, and are therefore suited to families of 4, but can also be kept as double or twin bedrooms. All tents on the campsite are equipped with private toilet and shower facilities.

Visitors camping at Tumaren camp typically enjoy a number of walking safaris, camel rides, picnics, game-viewing and rock climbing activities before returning to the campsite for dinner each evening. Tumaren also offers a number of multiple day walking safaris, with the most popular being the 3-night classic walking safari.

The 3-night classic walking safari accommodates guests in spacious Kodiak tents, sleeping 1 or 2 people. The tents come with a towel, bedding and pillow and are additionally furnished with a table, mirror and solar light, as well as a stool and carpets for extra comfort. Each campsite includes shower facilities with warm water, and shared long-drop toilets with wooden seats. Fresh and well-prepared meals are provided each day as well as drinks, including alcohol.

Guests going on any of Tumaren’s walking safaris will be accompanied by expert Samburu or Laikipia guides and trackers. This affords guests ample opportunity to learn about the region’s fauna, flora and culture, whilst experiencing the landscape for themselves.
