Kicheche Laikipia Camp is the ultimate in safari camp luxury. The six deluxe tents are custom designed and fully insect-proof with en-suite bathrooms equipped with dresser, flushing toilet and hot showers. Each tent has its own private veranda with comfortable chairs to relax on whilst overlooking the waterhole.

Meals, which combine African and international flavours, are usually served al fresco-style under the vast Kenyan skies. However there is also a well-furnished lounge and dining tent, where guests may choose to have some of their meals.

The camp is located in the centre of the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, which is 90,000 acres of wilderness, offering an incredibly un-crowded environment to enjoy the game viewing. It is home to Kenya’s largest population of Black Rhino, as well as elephant, cheetah, lion, leopard and plentiful plains game. There are also some rarer northern species like the Grevy’s zebra, Jackson’s Hartebeest and Beisa oryx.

The Conservancy lies on the equator and has some fantastic views of Mount Kenya. As well as day and night time game drives, there is a lion tracking programme and a chimpanzee sanctuary for orphaned chimpanzees, which children find particularly appealing.
