Kenya offers some of the most pristine wilderness areas where the young and young at heart can really immerse themselves into an unforgettable African safari! The Kenya Northern Circuit itinerary will have you spending 8 days exploring the Northern parts of Kenya.

Firstly, your holiday will start with 2 nights at a luxury tented camp in the Ol Pajeta Conservancy. The Ol Pajeta Conservancy is located on 360km2 of natural wilderness. Home to the largest black rhino population in East Africa. The conservancy is also home to the last 2 Northern Rhino. Above all, it was the home of the famous Sudan until his passing in early 2018. The Ol Pajeta Conservancy is passionate about nature conservation. A real place of sanctuary and safety for these highly endangered animals.

Secondly, the next 2 nights of your Kenya Northern Circuit safari holiday you spent in the Samburu National Reserve. The Samburu National Reserve is a wildlife rich area. Moreover, it is home to a large elephant population. Hence, making for some exciting game viewing! Furthermore the reserve is also home to the five Northern species. In sum the Grevy Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk and the Beisa Oryx. Your accommodation here is in a traditional tented safari camp. Often elephant and other game stroll right through the campsite!

Finally, on day 5 of your trip the road takes you in the direction of the Lewa Conservancy region, where you will be spending the final 3 nights of your holiday. Note that you’re in for a treat with a variety of game drives, guided bush walks, horseback and camel rides! In sum the Lewa Conservancy is 250km2 and covers diverse landscapes including the Ngare Ndare Forest. Given that, it makes it a wonderful place for viewing a diverse range of game, including the ‘big 5’! The family-owned game lodge where you will be staying offers a variety of activities for everyone.

Your Itinerary

Day 1-2 - Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Arrival in Nairobi where you will meet up with a local representative, who will assist you to the 4×4 meeting point. Drive with your guide to the Ol Pejeta Conservancy arriving in time for lunch. The adventure begins with a private afternoon game drive on the day of arrival. Visit the endangered species enclosure, go on a game walk or do some lion tracking while you’re here. You will be spending 2 nights at Ol Pejeta Safari Cottages on a fully inclusive basis.

Day 3-4 - Samburu Conservation

On the third day the road takes you to Samburu, arriving in time for lunch. Spend the next 2 nights at the classic Elephant Bedroom Camp, nestled along the river with ample birdlife and tranquil surrounds. Spend your time enjoying morning and afternoon game drives, perhaps go on a guided bush walk or cultural tour to a local Samburu village. Your stay here is also fully inclusive.

Day 5-7 - Lewa Conservancy

Drive with your guide to Lewa Downs, where you stay at Lewa Safari Camp on a fully inclusive basis*. Continue your safari adventure with exciting game drives and bush walks, horseback and camel riding, and perhaps even a flight on an open-cockpit biplane. The Park is closed in April, May and November.

*House drinks, shared game drives, guided walks, horse and camel riding, pre-historic site visits, community crafts, laundry and Lewa airstrip transfers.

2 nights at Lewa Safari Camp

Day 8 - Return to Nairobi

Today is the last day of your East Africa safari holiday, and it’s time to head back home. To make sure you get the most of your trip though, enjoy a last breakfast and game activity before heading off to Wilson airport.

You will take a flight from Wilson Airport to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, before catching the connecting flight back home.
