Laikipia

The Kenya Adventure Safari itinerary will have you spending 7 days exploring. Visit the Laikipia region and some of the more remote areas of Kenya. Kenya offers some of the most pristine wilderness areas. Immerse yourselve into an unforgettable African safari!

Your Kenya Adventure Safari holiday will start off in the Laikipia region. Laikipia county is a cosmopolitan area of Kenya and therefore a popular travel destination. However, it is definitely not without the natural wilderness that Kenya is known for. The region is a vast open plain, well known for its wildlife. For instance, the rare Bongo and African Wild Dog and ‘Big 5’, amongst others. For this reason it a great destination for game viewing. Spend your time going on day and night game drives and guided walking safaris. Above all, you can join an experienced tracker to track the wild dogs!

Tumaren

Day 4 of your Kenya Adventure Safari takes you to the Tumaren Camp in the Laikipia region. For the next 3 nights you will immerse in the wild and ancient bushveld of the Tumaren Ranch. The first night of your stay you spend beside an ancient rocky outcrop. Here you’ll enjoy sundowners and a spectacular view. After that, back at the campsite, a delicious freshly-prepared meal awaits you. The rest of the safari you explore the Acacia bush and all the wonders it has to offer. Spot animals like lion, leopard, hyena and wild dog to a large variety of prey animals. You stay in a mobile camp and the bulk of the luggage will be carried from campsite to campsite. The kind and generous walking camels of Tumaren Ranch will do this job.

During this unique 7-day Kenya Adventure Safari you will explore some of the more remote areas of Kenya. Be accompanied by expert guides and trackers who are always willing to share their knowledge with those who come to visit these ancient grounds.

Your Itinerary

Days 1-3 - Laikipia region

Arrival in Nairobi where you will meet up with a local representative, who will assist you to Wilson Airport, catching an internal flight to the Laikipia region. The first 3 nights of your Kenya adventure will be spent at Laikipia Wilderness on a fully inclusive basis. This small and intimate camp site allows for the day activities to be planned around you, from day and night game drives, to walking safaris, fishing, bird watching, fly camping, guided walks, wild dog tracking & bush meals.

3 nights at Laikipia Wilderness Camp

Days 4-6 - Tumaren Camp

Today the road takes you to Tumaren Camp. Things get a bit wilder, as you will spend the next 3 nights sleeping in a spacious canvas tent in a mobile camp, on a fully inclusive basis. This part of your journey will take you on a 3-night Classic Walking Safari, exploring some of the more remote parts of Kenya with expert guides and trackers who will happily share their knowledge and wisdom of the area with you. All meals are freshly prepared at the campsite.

Day 7 - Return to Nairobi

It’s time to end your Kenya Adventure Safari holiday and head back home.

Enjoy a last freshly-prepared breakfast before being transferred to Nanyuki airstrip, where you will catch a flight to Wilson airport in Nairobi.

Upon arrival at Wilson Airport you will be transferred to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, before catching the connecting flight back home.
