Travelling with Children

The people of Jordan are among the most warm and welcoming in the world, and the first thing you’ll experience when landing in the country is an overwhelming sense of how peaceful everything is – and with good reason. Jordan is one of the safest places to travel in the world, allowing both young and old to enjoy its beauty in complete peace of mind.

If you’re taking children with you on your trip to Jordan, there are so many things to do with them that are both entertaining and educational. Petra and Jaresh, for example, will grow their mind in a way that a history book will never do, while riding camels in the Wadi Rum to sit with the native Bedouin people and hear them share their songs and stories under a perfect starry sky can be an inspirational experience like no other.

The Dead Sea, of course, will amaze both young and old alike, and a trip to the Red Sea (Aqaba especially) will allow kids to immerse themselves in a aquatic world of coral reefs, exotic fish and curious seashells. Take a couple of snorkels with you on your trip and they’ll be entertained for hours, and with plenty of opportunity for scuba diving, swimming and sailing there are loads of other ways to have fun on the waves as well. There’s even a marine park, with a visitor’s centre, restaurant, and a clear guide to all the weird and wonderful marine life they have on display – a perfect attraction for families.

And of course, if that isn’t enough, there’s also the Children’s’ Museum of Jordan, a favourite for kids of all ages with a constantly updated programme of events featuring performances and exhibitions about all manner local culture, science and the arts – all aimed at young people.
